PRODUCT UPDATES Duet Washer

Models: WFW9200S & WFW9400S


Updated Duet washers and matching dryers will be launched January, 2007. The main differences are the look of the front, the detergent dispenser and accessing the console and console components, including the control knob.

DETERGENT DISPENSER
The detergent dispenser now uses a slide mechanism to change position between powdered and liquid detergent and replaces the moveable separator in the previous model.

TEARDROP REMOVAL
The teardrop must be removed whenever the console is accessed. To remove the teardrop: Remove the washer top. Lift the top center of the teardrop. Carefully pull the teardrop retaining pins out of the front panel holes and remove it.

The 10 teardrop retaining pins are tted into keyhole slots in the teardrop retainers. The pins can be replaced separately. The retainers are part of the teardrop assembly.

CONSOLE REMOVAL
To remove the console: Remove the detergent dispenser drawer and teardrop. Remove the two indicated screws from the console. Open the washer door, pull up on the center of the console, and release the locking tabs. Pull the right side of the console forward and release it from the interference bracket.

CONTROL KNOB REMOVAL


To remove the control knob: Turn the console over and disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the central control unit. Depress the four user interface locking tabs and release the user interface. Lift the interface out of the console and remove it.

Break the plastic keeper from the control knob and remove the knob. NOTE: A new keeper will be supplied with the replacement knob.

CONTROL KNOB ALIGNMENT


If the gear set in the console should need to be replaced, they must rst be aligned before installing the control knob. The arrow on the upper gear must be aligned with the short gear tooth on the lower gear, located behind the knob keeper. When reinstalling the user interface (UI), align the encoder shaft with the D-shaped receiver on the upper gear.

DUET WASHER INFORMATION


New Manufacturing Division Beginning January, 2007, some WFW9200S washers will be built in Monterrey, Mexico. New washers will be distinguished by Engineering code and by serial number. Schorndorf Eng. Digits 00-09 Monterrey Eng. Digits 10-19 Schorndorf serial begins with CS Monterrey serial begins with HL 93% of the parts are interchangeable. Unique parts include: Drive motor Drain pump Central Control Unit Tub Drum Cabinet Rear panel It is very important to use the Engineering digit numbers in the model number whenever ordering replacement parts.

Direct Drive Washer


A new inlet valve/vacuum break assembly will be introduced on model WTW5800S at the end of April, 2007. The inlet valve/vacuum break will be a one piece unit that includes the inlet valves, the vacuum break, and the appropriate automatic temperature control system for the model selected. The vacuum break will be put into full production across all models beginning in November.
