Aspen Language Pack Installation for 9 languages

Introduction
This guide provides an overview of the installation process for the Language Packs associated with the following aspenONE products: Aspen Process Engineering Console Aspen HYSYS, Aspen HYSYS Petroleum Refining and Aspen HYSYS Upstream Aspen Plus (User Interface prompts only)

Languages: French Italian German Spanish Japanese Chinese (Simplified) Korean Portuguese (Brazil) Russian

In addition to this document, each product or family of products has an associated installation guide that contains detailed installation instructions. Those guides are available on the aspenONE Documentation DVD. Note: Documentation has not been localized in this Language Pack.

Requirements
Administrative privilege is required to install. The table below shows the additional disk space required to install the Language Pack.

Aspen Language Pack Installation for 9 languages Before You Install

Complete all steps
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Confirm that the SLM is installed and running. (See the SLM Installation Guide for additional information about installing SLM.) Obtain the appropriate license file(s) or obtain the I.P. address or name of the SLM server. Ensure that the system requirements are met. Ensure that you have local administrative permissions. Install/configure required third-party software (e.g., Microsoft Excel). Complete the installation steps as described in the standard product installation guide(s). Launch and execute the installed application(s) to confirm that the installation is complete and the application(s) functions properly.

Install the Language Pack

Complete all steps
1 Insert the aspenONE V7.2 Localization media into the DVD drive or unzip the aspenONE_Localization_V7.2_Media14b.zip, open the folder and double-click on setup.exe. The AspenTech Installation Browser is displayed. 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 On the Products tab of the AspenTech Installation Browser, select the aspenONE V7.2 Localization node. Click Install. The Welcome dialog box is displayed. Click Next. The License Agreement dialog box is displayed. Read and accept the License Agreement. Click Next. The Feature Selection dialog box is displayed. Select the desired product language packs for the products that are installed on the computer. Click Next. The Ready to Install dialog box is displayed. Confirm the feature selection and click Install.

After You Install

Complete all steps
1 If you are using the same language in the operating system as the language you want use for the aspenONE application, skip this step. If not, in XP, select Start | Settings | Control Panel | Regional and Language Options | Advanced or in Vista, select Start | Settings | Control Panel | Regional and Language Options | Administrative | Change system Locale. From the drop down list, select the desired language. For Aspen PE Console, Aspen HYSYS, and Aspen Plus: From Programs | Aspentech | Process Modeling V7.2 | Select Aspen Language Utility choose the same language you selected in step (1). The language that you select in this step will be used for all localized aspenONE products installed on your machine. Notice that you may need to restart the aspenONE application after the language selection.

Complete steps as needed
HYSYS family, PE Console Aspen Plus Run the program and check that the menu and form labels are displayed in the selected language. Run the program, display a form, and verify that the prompts are displayed in the selected language.

Known Issues

Issue
Saving in XML format and HYSYS input summary are not supported in the localized version. Variable names in HYSYS variable navigator are not localized. Units of measurement are not localized. Chemical component names are not localized. When using Aspen Properties, Fluid Package names and reaction names cannot use extended characters in local languages. Bold labels and fonts do not appear on the Refinery Reactor forms in Japanese operating systems. In Windows 7 in order for some configuration to take place you need to run the HYSYS English version at least once before running the localized version. Although not strictly necessary this is recommended in all the operating systems. Note about un-installation: Before uninstalling the Language Pack, please set the language as English. If not, after uninstallation, HYSYS may still regenerate some language-specific files. Aspen Economic Evaluation cannot be launched via PE Console when Aspen Plus is selected as simulator on Russian and French operating systems. Only User Interface prompts are localized. Dialog boxes, menus and error messages are currently in English. Some strings may not have been translated. Long labels may appear slightly truncated.
