1. INTRODUCTION Pepsiwas founded in New York in 1965. It is Producing Non-alcoholic beverage andF o o d p r o c e s s i n g i t e m s Pepsii s a c a r b o n a t e d b e v e r a g e t h a t i s p r o d u c e d a n d manufactured by PepsiCo. It is sold in retail stores, restaurants cinemas and from v e n d i n g m a c h i n e s . T h e d r i n k w a s f i r s t m a d e i n t h e 1 8 9 0 s b y p h a r m a c i s t C a l e b Bradham in New Bern, North Carolina. The brand was trademarked on June 16, 1903.Pepsi arrived on the market in India in 1988.PepsiCo gained entry to India in 1988 bycreating a joint venture with the Punjab government-owned Punjab Agro Industrial Corporation (PAIC) and Voltas India Limited. This joint venture marketed and soldLehar Pepsi until 1991, when the use of foreign brands was allowed; PepsiCo boughtout its partners and ended the joint venture in 1994. Others claim that firstly Pepsi was banned from import in India, in 1970, for having refused to release the list of itsingredients and in 1993, the ban was lifted, with Pepsi arriving on the market shortlyafterwards. These controversies are a reminder of "Indias sometimes acrimoniousrelationship with huge multi national companies." Indeed, some argue that PepsiCoand The Coca-Cola Company have "been major targets in part because they are well-known foreign companies that draw plenty of attention." Ingredients Pepsi-Cola contains basic ingredients found in most oth er similar drinks includingc a r b o n a t e d w a t e r , h i g h f r u c t o s e c o r n s y r u p , s u g a r , c o l o r i n g s , p h o s p h o r i c a c i d , caffeine, citric acid, and natural flavors. The caffeine -free PepsiCola contains thesame ingredients minus the caffeine.
