Vacancy: Programme Officer

The Swedish Organisation for Individual Relief, SOIR, is a Swedish NGO working in the field of health, education and economic empowerment in 13 countries worldwide. SOIR has been working in oPt over 40 years promoting the rights and human dignity of persons with intellectual disabilities. During the last years SOIR has started phasing out its own services in favour of supporting local civil society actors enabling persons with intellectual disabilities to advocate for their human rights and full participation in the Palestinian society. We cooperate with and support organisations, networks and movements that share our values, primarily are represented by persons with disabilities or have the legitimacy to represent persons with disabilities. Position: We are now looking for a Programme Officer. The position is based in SOIRs office in Al Bireh and entails travelling in the West Bank. Responsibilities: - You are responsible for an assigned number of partner organisations within the oPt Programme. - You are responsible for monitoring, evaluating and reporting partner organisations interventions, results, and effective and efficient use of funds. - You are responsible for ensuring the quality of plans and reports submitted by partner organisations to the SOIR office. - You are responsible for facilitating organisational and capacity development of partner organisations based on their needs and priorities. - You are responsibility to ensure that the operations of the partner organisations comply with SOIRs policies, regulations and strategic focus in oPt. - You are responsible for contributing to the internal and external communication of SOIR in terms of partner organisations, their interventions and achievements. Qualifications: - University degree in Social Science, Economics, Management, or equivalent experience

Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience preferably in the development sector. Understanding of and experience from the civil society sector. Demonstrated experience from and good skills in project management and PME-R. Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and assess project proposals, reports, and financial information. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English. Excellent computer skills in the Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Excellent analytical and research skills. Demonstrated commitment to the values and mission of SOIR. Driving licence is an advantage.
