Whats going on in our classroom?


Franais: We are currently
working on a writing assignment, practising the use of procedural writing to explain how to make a dictionary at home to ensure good comprehension. Reading aloud will help them to practice their pronunciation and home. In grade 3 the children

are expected to know their multiplication tables to 7x12.

We continue make further connections with what they are reading. to focus on reading comprehension (going back to the text to find answers and supporting vocabulary) and good writing practices (ie. writing complete sentences, sequencing ideas in paragraphs, etc.). We will also review identifying the key features and elements of a story (ie. characters, setting, plot). We have completed our final set of Running Record reading evaluations for the year and will continue our Home Reading program on an as-needed basis. Whether books are brought home from school or sourced We continue to send home a new Devoirs package every Friday to further practice the language activities being studied in class. Thank you for continuing to check and sign your childs homework completion weekly.

Sciences: We have already


begun our Structures unit. Thank you to Scientist Debi Foster for guiding us through as informative and exciting workshop. Our bridges were a huge success! We will continue to investigate the ability of structures to support a load, modifications that can be made to add strength and stability to structures, the impact of forces on structures, and their impact on the environment.

Mathmatiques: We have
completed our study of 2D and 3D geometry and will now apply our understanding of these concepts to help us measure mass and capacity (litre, grams, kilograms). Following this, we will begin our focused
