Turnonbothdevices. 1. Simultaneouslypressthelistenvolume adjustbuttonmarked+(volumeup) andthecallcontrolbutton.Releasethe buttonswhentheindicatorlightbegins toflashredthenblue. 2. Whiletheheadsetisflashingredand blue,usethephonemenutosearch forBluetoothdevicesandselect510 Plantronics . 3. Whenpromptedforpasskeyenter 0000.Theheadsetwillflashbluewhen pairedsuccessfully.

Powering USB Bluetooth Adapter

TheUSBBluetoothadapterisautomaticallypoweredonuponinsertingintotheUSBport ofthecomputer.IfyourUSBportonthecomputerishardtoaccess,youcanusetheUSB extensioncable.

NOTE: The USB Bluetooth adapter is automatically active with the current paired headset upon powering on.

PlantronicsPerSonoCallsoftwareprovidesthelinkbetweenyourBluetoothheadsetand thesoftphoneapplicationonyourcomputer.PerSonoCallsoftwareprovidestheabilityto remotelydetectandanswer/endacallfromyoursoftphoneapplicationviatheheadset callcontrolbutton.

WiththeCDinserted,gotothePerSonoCallmainscreenandclickonInstallthe PerSonoCallSoftware. 2. Yoursoftphonemayrequireyoutochoosewhichaudiodeviceyouwishtouse.Please refertosoftphonedocumentationfordetails. NOTE: When the USB Bluetooth adapter is installed, it becomes the default audio device in your computer. You can set preferences manually in the Windows operating system through the Sounds and Audio Devices option in the Control Panel.

NOTE: The headset and USB Bluetooth adapter are paired to each other at the factory. However, if you have purchased a USB Bluetooth adapter separately, or if you wish to use a replacement headset with your existing adapter, the units must be paired. Powerontheheadset.InserttheUSBBluetoothadapterintheUSBportofyourcomputer. 1. Simultaneouslypressthelistenvolume adjustbuttonmarked+(volumeup) andthecallcontrolbutton.Release thebuttonswhentheindicatorlight beginstoflashredthenblue. 2. Pinchthepairing/connectbutton foratleast2secondsuntiladapter flashesredandblueandbeginpairing withyourBluetoothheadset.

NOTE: Once installed we recommend that you set PerSonoCall to launch whenever the Windows operating system starts. See page 10 for details.

NOTE: Take caution when manually pairing the USB adapter. Do not press hard. Please pinch with both fingers rather than push on the adapter to avoid damage to the adapter or USB port.

NOTE: Some PerSonoCall features are grayed and not applicable to the Voyager 510-USB system. Launch PerSonoCall Whenever Windows Starts CheckthisboxtoautomaticallylaunchthePerSonoCallapplicationwheneveryou startyourcomputer.Thisisrecommended. Lock Headset Radio Link On CheckthisboxtopreventPerSonoCallfromturningofftheradiolinkwhennocalls arepresent.SeeAnswering/ending/makingcallswithPerSonoCallonsoftphone onpage14tolearnmore.Beawarethatlockingtheheadsetradiolinkonwill dramaticallyreduceheadsetstandbyandtalktime. Allow Call Control Button to Toggle the Headsets Radio Link Checkthisboxtoturntheradiolinktotheheadsetonandofftosupportmultipoint functionality.Seepage15. Show Warning if the Headsets Radio Link is Left on for a Long Time Checkthisboxtobegivenareminderifyourheadsetradiolinkisleftonformore than30minutes.Leavingtheheadsetradiolinkonforlongperiodsoftimewill dramaticallyreduceheadsetstandbyandtalktime.

NOTE: In some cases compatible softphones may not show the available outgoing line in the Softphone Status box. This will not affect how the softphone operates with PerSonoCall.

Slidetheheadsetoverandbehindyourear.Pressgentlytowardsyourearforasnugfit. Adjustthemicrophonepositionsothatitisdirectedtowardsyourmouth.

USING YOUR HEADSET Answering/Ending/Making Calls with PerSonoCall on Softphone


To make a call,pressthecallcontrolbuttontotakethesoftphoneoffhook.Youshould hearadialtone. To answer or end a call,pressthecallcontrolbutton. WhenusingPerSonoCall,theradiolinkbetweentheheadsetandtheUSBBluetoothadapter willonlybeactiveduringacall.Thisisthedefaultsettingintendedtopreservethebattery lifeoftheheadset.However,youmaywishtohavetheradiolinkactivewhennotonacall soyoucanlistentootheraudiosources,suchasstreamingaudioonyourPC.Youcanlock theradiolinkonintwoways: BasicOptionsscreenchecktheboxfor"Lockheadsetradiolinkon"seepage10. Rightclickonsystemtrayiconandchoose"Lockradiolinkon" . NOTE: Locking the radio link on for extended periods of time will significantly reduce the standby and talk time of the headset. For Softphones Not Compatible with PerSonoCall CheckthePerSonoCallcompatibilitylistatwww.plantronics.com/personocallforthemost currentinformationonsoftphonecompatibility. IfyoursoftphoneisnotcurrentlysupportedbyPerSonoCall,remotedetectionandanswer/ endviatheheadsetdoesnotfunction.Pressingthecallcontrolbuttonontheheadset willonlyopenandclosetheradiolinkprovidingaudio;youmustanswerthecallfrom thesoftphone. TheVoyager510-USBheadsethasmultipointtechnologywhichallowsyoutoseamlessly switchbetweentwoaudiodevices.YoucanansweracallfromeitheryourPC-based softphoneoryourmobilephonebypressingthecallcontrolbutton.Theheadsetmustbe pairedtobothdevices,andthentoenablethisfunctionality,see"Allowcallcontrolbutton totoggletheheadsetsradiolink"ontheBasicOptionsscreenonpage10.

Additional Features Only with Mobile Phone


Redialing Last Number Toactivatelastnumberredial,double clickthecallcontrolbutton.Youwillhear ahightoneforeachkeypress.Whenyou hearafurthertone,thelastnumberhas beenredialed. Switching a Call From Phone to Headset Toswitchanactivecallfromyourphone toyourheadset,brieflypressthecall controlbutton. Switching a Call From Headset to Phone Toswitchanactivecallfromyourheadset toyourphone,pressandholdthecall controlbuttonuntilyouhearatone. Whenyouhearasecondtone,thetransfer hasbeencompletedandyoucanrelease thebutton.

Answering/Ending/Making Calls with Mobile Phone

Withtheheadseton,pressandhold thecallcontrolbuttonfor2seconds, untilyouhearasecondtone,toactivate voicedialing. NOTE: To use voice activated dialing, the voice dialing feature must be enabled on your phone. See your Bluetooth phone manual for instructions.

To answer or end a call,brieflypressthecallcontrolbutton. To make a call,enternumberonyourphone,presssend,andthecallisautomatically transferredtoheadset;noneedtopressthecallcontrolbutton.

TROUBLESHOOTING FOR VOY AGER 510-USB


Problem
My Voyager headset does not work with the softphone I am using on my PC. (I cannot answer or disconnect from the headset call button).

Solution
Checkcompatibilitylistonwww.plantronics.com/ personocall toensureyoursoftphoneis compatibleforremoteansweranddisconnect. Headsetbatteryneedstobecharged.Seepage5. HeadsetisnotpairedtotheUSBBluetooth adapter.Seepage8. WhenaPCgoesintostandbyorhibernation,the USBBluetoothadapternolongerispoweredon. BesureyourPCisinanactivestate. BesurePerSonoCallsoftwareisinstalled andrunning.Seepage9.

Problem
Sound in headset is distorted. I can hear echo in headset.

Solution
Lowerthelistenvolumeonyoursoftphoneuntil thedistortiondisappears. Ifthedistortionisstillpresent,lowerthelisten volumecontrolonthecomputer. Adjustvolumeonheadset.Seepage16.

I can hear too much background conversation or noise.

Speakvolumeistoohigh.Lowerthespeak volumeonyoursoftphoneuntilthenoise disappears.Ifthenoiseisstillpresent,lowerthe microphonevolumecontrolonthecomputer. TheUSBBluetoothadapterwillsetitselfasthe .UsetheAudio defaultaudiodeviceinWindows settingsinWindowsunderSoundsandAudio Devicestochangethedeviceusedforaudio. Headsetbatterymaybedead,sobesurethe headsetisfullycharged.Seepage5. WhenaPCgoesintostandbyorhibernation,the USBBluetoothadapternolongerispoweredon. BesureyourPCisinanactivestate.

Ive plugged in the USB Bluetooth adapter but my headset does not respond to button presses.

Pressing the call control button on the headset when I have an incoming call on my softphone hangs up the call. I am using my headset to answer calls from both my softphone and my cell phone, and pressing the call control button on the headset takes my softphone off hook instead of answering my ringing cell phone.
