SONAR X1d Installation Instructions

IMPORTANT! If you have a QuickFix installed:

If your product lists Build 244, 245, 246, or 255: Install the SONAR X1c update and then continue with your installation path above. If your product lists Build 326 or Build 434, to install the X1d update you must roll back your QuickFix build beforehand. SONAR X1 Producer Expanded owners will want to roll back to build 425. SONAR X1 Producer/Studio/Essential owners will want to roll back to build 319 To roll back from a QuickFix build, do the following:

1. Navigate to the location you have SONAR installed. In most cases this is C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\SONAR X1 Version or C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\SONAR X1 Version 2. Open the "Backup" folder and then open the Folder titled with the date you ran the QuickFix installer. Contained within should be a folder titled the version number that was backed up. Example: C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\SONAR X1 Producer\Backup\12082011\Version_18.1.0.425 3. Open this folder and then select the contents in this folder. Press CTRL+ C to copy the contents to your clipboard. You can also right-click over the contents and select "Copy". Ultimately you're trying to copy the backup of your "SONARVersion.exe" file. 4. Return to the folder SONAR is officially installed to (listed in Step 1) Example: C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\SONAR X1 Producer 5. Press CTRL + V to paste the contents into this location. You can also right-click over empty space in this folder and select "Paste". Ultimately you're trying to replace the QuickFix "SONARVersion.exe" file with your official backed up "SONARVersion.exe" file. 6. If prompted with the message "There is already a file with the same name in this location", select Copy and Replace. SONAR X1 Producer Expanded only: 7. Navigate to the location where your Softube Saturation Knob is installed. In most cases this is C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\Internal\Softube or C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\Internal\Softube 8. Delete all of the contents of the "Softube" folder (including both the "Saturation Knob.dll" as well as the "Backup" folder). The X1d installer will create a new Saturation Knob.dll file for you. NOTE: If you have disabled "Scan for VST Plug-ins In Startup", you may have to manually re-scan your VST plug-ins by going to Edit > Preferences > File - VST Settings and clicking [Reset All VST Plug-ins] and then clicking [Scan VST Folders].
