Abstract. Abstract should outline the main features, results and conclusions of the work. The length of the abstract should not exceed 200
words.
Keywords: Keywords separated by comma, e.g. Metal forming, Commercial magnesium alloy sheet

1. GENERAL
This document contains instruction for Authors, who
would like to submit the paper for the 14th Metal Forming
Conference, to be held in Krakw, Poland, on September
16-19, 2012. Please read this document carefully before
typing your manuscript.
Just like you, we want the conference proceedings to be
considered a valuable reference for a long time to come.
This implies that all contributors do their real best to write
very good manuscripts. The latter must be well organised,
concise and clear, with carefully chosen words and terms,
so that they mean exactly what their authors want to ex-
press. In this context, it is essential that standard grammar
practices, punctuation and abbreviations be used all along.
If English is not your mother tongue, do not hesitate to
submit your manuscript to one of your better-trained col-
leagues or a professional translator for reviewing.
Your manuscript will be used as a camera-ready docu-
ment. It must therefore be clean, with no smudges, erasure
marks, pencil-or ink-corrections, creases or tears.
2. MANUSCRIPT FORMAT
2.1. Manuscript format
All manuscripts should be typed on portrait-oriented
DIN A-4 paper sheets (210 297 mm), with a constant
margin of 22 mm at top and bottom, and of 18 mm at left
and right. It is recommended that the Times New Roman
font (Microsoft) be used for the whole document.
Main title and Authors information. The main title
(format: 12pt Helvetica or Arial, Bold letters), lists of
authors (format: 9pt, Helvetica or Arial, Bold, Full Name,
Numbering) and affiliations (format: Number, 8pt, Helve-
tica or Arial, Department, University (Company),
town/country; email contact) should be separated ade-
quately from one another and typed with single spacing
across the full width of the page, starting immediately at
the top margin (no text box). Whichever the order of au-
thors names may be, in relation with contributed work
shares or hierarchical positions, the speakers should al-
ways be underlined.
2.2. Text
The text must be justified and arranged in two equal
columns (835 mm), separated by a 7mm spacing, as is the
case for this author guide. It must be typed in single-
spaced 10pt regular letters, with 3mm indentation at the
beginning of new paragraphs. Headings must appear in
10pt bold letters, line spacing before and after heading:
11.35pt.
2.3. Figures and tables
Figures and tables must all be in black and white: do
not use illustrations that depend on colour for meaning,
since the proceedings will be printed in black and white
only.
Figures and tables must be placed within the text, as
close as possible to their first mentions. They should either
not exceed the column width, or be placed across the page,
provided the column format has been removed locally, to
ensure easy reading. Double-column format must obvi-
ously be restored immediately after illustrations extending
across the document full width.
Figures and tables must be numbered with Arabic nu-
merals, in accordance with their appearance in the text,
with clear captions justified and being placed below fig-
ures and above tables, as in the default setting in most
popular word processors. Example of reference to tables
and figures in the text: Results are presented in Figure 1
and in Table 1.

2.4. Equations
A double space above and below equations must be
used to separate them from the text. All new symbols must

be listed and defined immediately after each equation, as
follows:

format: line spacing before and after: 6pt.
where: a coefficient, etc.
Numerical data must be expressed in S.I. units, for
homogeneity and clarity reasons.
Reference numbers within the text have to appear in
the square brackets [1] and must be placed immediately
after the final word of the sentence in which these refer-
ences are mentioned.
Each manuscript must contain a complete single-spaced
list of references, numbered consecutively in their order
of appearance in the text. There are essentially four types
of reference entry: articles, books, conference proceedings
and unpublished pieces of work. They should be formatted
as follows:
1. Articles: Name(s) of author(s): Article title, Publica-
tion title, Volume, Number (Year), Inclusive pages;
2. Books: Name(s) of author(s): Chapter title, Book title,
Name of publisher, City or country of publication
(Date of publication), Inclusive pages;
3. Proceedings: Names(s) of author(s): Contribution title,
Conference Title, Editors, City of publication (Date),
Inclusive pages;
4. Unpublished works: Name(s) of author(s): Title,
Name of conference, City and country (Date).
5. In the case of private communications, just mention
Unpublished data, but try not to use such references.

Due to publishing constraints, imposed by the great
number of contributions to be included in the proceedings,
manuscripts must be no more than 4 pages in length,
including text, figures, tables, and references. It is there-
fore of the utmost importance that the highest degree of
care be taken to make them concise and right to the point,
without phrases or illustrations that are not essential to the
message.
5. MANUSCRIPT MAILING INSTRUCTIONS
