MONTEREY COUNTY VINTNERS & GROWERS ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES 2012 BOARD of DIRECTORS

Esteemed Leaders from Monterey Wine and Grape Region Look Towards the Future The Monterey County Vintners & Growers Association (MCVGA) announced the 2012 Board of Directors. Annually, new Board members are elected to a threeyear term by the MCVGA membership. The fourteen-member Board consists of twelve general member seats, one Winegrape Grower Committee Delegate, and one Member-at-Large. The 2012 Board of Directors includes Scott Scheid, Scheid Vineyards, President and Public Policy Chair; Paul Johnson, Johnson Vineyard Company, Vice President; Erik Martella, Constellation Wines, US., Secretary; Chris Steinbruner, Member At-Large and Treasurer; Jason Smith, Paraiso Vineyards and WineGrape Grower Chair; Cindy Paup, J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines and Marketing Committee Chair; Cheryl Indelicato, DFV and Past Board President; Joyce Yates, Lockwood Oaks Vineyards and Membership Chair; Sabrine Rodems, Wrath Wines; Andy Mitchell, Hahn Wines; Robert Cook, Chalone Vineyard; Anthony Pessagno, Pessagno Winery; Matt Shea, Bernardus Winery and Martha Tognetti, Jackson Family Wines. On the tail end of successful 2011 national co-branding programs with key retailers around the country and several updated MCVGA wine events, I thank the 2011 MCVGA Board for their dedication over the past year, said Rhonda Motil, Executive Director of the Monterey Count Vintners & Growers Association. We are also very excited about the forty percent growth in tasting rooms in Monterey County over the last year. This clearly indicates that new winemakers and consumers alike are discovering the bounty of the region, and we couldnt be happier. We will now place our efforts behind the fall release of the Monterey County Signature Wine Series, continuing the momentum of last years events, and growing our membership base to include more Monterey AVA labeled wines.
