3 main events:

1) The first main scene and event in the story is the actual attack on Pearl Harbor. It was a normal Sunday morning and Carter would be on his ship doing his duties while Sarah would be with her family getting ready for church. All of sudden Japanese air bombs hit and Pearl Harbor was under attack. The scene would go into detail of how Carter had to get off his ship and help start fighting back to the surprise attack. Sarahs family would be getting away from the base as much as possible to avoid getting attacked and hurt themselves. Sarah herself would rush down to the hospital on base to help start rescuing and caring for those injured from the attacks. The purpose of this scene is to start the story. The whole reason the two must be separated is because of World War 2 which the United States entered due to the attack on Pearl Harbor. This scene is crucial to the plot line itself, without the attack there would be no reason for the story. 2) The second main scene would be when Carter is told he must go to war with the United States Navy and fight in World War 2 while Sarah must stay back and help care for those injured in the attack. It is at this moment that the couple must decide if they want to stay together while he goes off to war. They decide to stay together because they love each other too much to let go. They must say their goodbyes and promise to write each other every day and be loyal. They talk about how they know it wont be easy to be separated by such a great distance for so long but it doesnt matter. The purpose of this scene is it shows the beginning of their journey being separated as a couple. It will explain why the whole story will be written through letters, be cause that is the couples way of communication to explain how their lives are in the places they are. 3) The final main scene is when the couple is reunited in Times Square, NY. Sarah was called to move to New York for a while to help injured soldiers returning back to the states. Carter was coming home on a boat to New York where from there he would catch a train with Sarah back to California where they would take a boat to Hawaii. It is explained through their letters. The couple is reunited on September 2, 1945 which is the day Japan surrendered over to the Allied Powers. Everyone was running and shouting in Times Square, NY that the war was over and the couple was then reunited in Times Square during the excitement which is where their picture was taken. The purpose of this event is it ends the story and brings the story back to the whole reason I wanted to create it. It brings it back to the photo kissing the war goodbye in which the couple is kissing in Times Square, NY because they are finally reunited after all their letters and time.
