Green Supply Chains: An Action Manifesto

14-15 June 2011 | Parkroyal Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

The time for action on Greening Supply Chains has come. Daily headlines report food shortages, and concerns about energy security and dangerous climate change. Current forecasts suggest that by 2050 the human population will grow to around 9 billion, and that per capita consumption of hard and soft commodities are set to increase. An incredible challenge lies ahead of us: already the production, extraction, and consumption of basic commodities are contributing to humanitys unsustainable ecological footprint. It is clear that access to resources will be a major strategic corporate issue in the coming decades. We are convinced that the winners will be those companies that are able to demonstrate that their Supply Chains are clean and Green Source: Duncan Pollard, Director, Conservation Practice & Policy, WWF International 2009 from Green Supply Chains, an action manifesto by Emmett and Sood 2101 published by Wiley

WHY YOU CANNOT MISS THIS EVENT In the future all organisations will need to appreciate the changes that Green brings to business processes. This change may ultimately be forced onto some organisations. We suggest that only when organisations have fully examined these changes and considered the emerging trends, will they then be able to proactively gain the financial benefits that effective Green Supply Chain management can bring. This seminar will therefore illustrate the benefits of a Green Supply Chain and demonstrate how to apply a mitigation strategy for a Green Supply Chain. As with all ground breaking endeavors, whilst the challenges are large, the first mover benefits are enormous. The time for action is therefore now.

In order to clarify your learning objectives and ensure you get the most out of this training, you will need to complete a Pre-Course Questionnaire stating your knowledge of the subject, level of experience and other relevant issues.
