HCM_ESS_CI_1: Business Function HCM, ESS for Personal Information (new)

Use As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enterprise Extension Human Capital Management, Enhancement Package 3 (EA-HR 603), the business function HCM, ESS for Personal Information is available. This business function allows you to activate the following new and enhanced functions: o Customizing of Personal Information Screens: Customize Detail and Review Screens You can personalize screens in Personal Information applications, for example, by inserting additional UI elements, rearranging columns in a table, and so on. This makes the applications easier to navigate for your employees and ensures that there are no unnecessary fields present. Determine Fields for Business Card on Overview Screen You can choose which fields appear on the Overview screen of an Employee SelfService (ESS) application. This allows you to specify the fields relevant for your employees, so that they can easily check which data is available in that application. Reuse an existing country-specific application to create a new application, using the Reuse Country-Specific Applications activity. This reduces effort, since you do not have to create an entirely new application. There is an extra step in Customizing for this activity. To create a new countryspecific application, you perform the additional Customizing step Determine Fields for Business Card on Overview Screen in this activity.

Foreign Address Settings: Determine Countries for Foreign Address and Make Settings You can choose the countries for which employees can enter a foreign address, and add countries as required so that employees can maintain foreign addresses in the correct country format. Specify Countries for Foreign Address Entry You can override the default countries displayed for a service, such as Mailing Address, and limit the number of countries an employee can enter for that service.

Determine Active Subtypes and Make Settings You can make settings for application interfaces in the Personal Information area. You specify which items employees can create or change in an application, for example, allowing an employee to create data records with start dates in the future. There is a new view for this activity in Customizing. When you click the activity, a table opens where you enter the country grouping. You are provided with a list of infotypes, such as address, bank details, that you can modify for that country.

Effects on Customizing You make the Customizing settings for the Personal Information area in Customizing for Personnel Management by choosing Employee Self- Service -> Service-Specific Settings -> Personal Information.
