Call: Prayers 1

R/: Lord, bless your chosen ones 1) For those who proclaim the reign of God by submitting to you the most vibrant tenderness of their human love to prepare other hearts for your arrival: Lord, be their friend and keep them in your love. We pray. 2) For those who proclaim the reign of God in solitude and abandonment: Lord, be their family and keep them in your love. We pray. 3) For those who proclaim the reign of God like sheep in the midst of wolves: Lord, be their shepherd and keep them in your love. We pray. 4) For those who proclaim the reign of God by sharing the poverty of the most destitute: Lord, be their riches and keep them in your love. We pray. 5) For those who proclaim the reign like messengers of peace in the midst of violent world: Lord, be their safety and support and keep them in your love. We pray. 6) For those who proclaim the reign by healing the sick: Lord, be their physician, health and strength and keep them in your love. 7) For those who continue to proclaim your reign despite opposition and persecution: Lord, be their reward and protection and keep them in your love. We pray. 8) For those who proclaim the reign of God without going away but simply through the beauty of their life in our midst: Lord, be their assurance and confidence and keep them in your love. We pray. Prayer: The harvest is abundant, but the labourers are few. We pray to you, Lord: Send workers to your harvest! May they take for a traveling companion neither the allure of money nor the force of power, but simply the peace and joy of your Gospel. May their whole life proclaim: The Kingdom of God has arrived in your son Jesus Christ our Lord who lives.

R/: Help us to say, "Yes"!
(Tony Thampi K., c.s.c.)

1) Lord, we say yes to you, you who have called us out of nothingness to being, out of darkness into light. R/2) Lord, we say yes to ourselves, to our strengths and weaknesses, to our richness and limitations. R/3) Lord, we say yes to our sisters; sisters you have given us to live, to pray, to work and be happy with. We say yes to what they are and what they would become. R/4) Lord, we say yes to people you have given us to administer to, yes to our students, our co-workers, our parishioners, our patients.... and others, yes to their needs, their concerns, their hopes and disappointments. R/5) Lord, we say yes to those who are most in need of us - people who have no one to plead for, people who are unjustly treated, people who are constantly in fear, in uncertainty, insecurity, with whom we yearn to identify. Lord our God, deign to preserve your church in this faith: let your word never be adulterated by the power of the world, for you bring justice to the poor and defend the rights of the oppressed. We make this
