A Living Act

VOLUME 3 ISSUE 2

In Acts 18:24-26 we hear of a young man named Apollos, full of passion and boldness in proclaiming Jesus, though he only knew of the baptism of John. What was he lacking? Aquila and Priscilla, mere tentmakers, hear him teaching and recognize that Apollos needs further teaching. So they pull him aside and mentor him, solidifying his foundation. This account is a whopping three verses! And yet in contains such a powerful and kingdom building principle, as well as is the fulfillment of the Great Commission! (Matt 28:19-20) DISCIPLESHIP! It is the great Living Act that we are called to live in our very own journeys. Both being discipled (learning) and discipling (mentoring others). Will we ACT?

November 12, 2010 seems like a long time ago in some ways, but not so long either. A lot sure has changed since that first time Tashi and I sat down to dinner at the Bloomfield Great House in Mandeville to share our hearts and convictions with each other, and we have nothing but praises to offer for our Gods faithfulness to us from that day until now. With our team and ACWR committee meetings came a good reason to return to the slightly upscale restaurant, and as we walked up the steps we kind of had that ah hah moment where we realized this was our first trip back to Bloomfield since that Ebenezar of a night in 2010. As we talked about it briefly and reminisced, we knew we had to recapture that moment with another picture. The table was in a slightly different location, we look a tad different and the color of the lights had changed, but one thing had not. And that is the goodness, grace, mercy and loving kindness of our ever-faithful, ever-present Father and giver of all good things.

Brad, Amber, Tashi and I saying goodbye until March!

ACWR Evaluation and Team Meetings

In the fall of 2010 we enjoyed a wonderful week of fellowship and discussion with a group of supporters from ACWR Caribbean Committee. It was a memorable time for myself as I was preparing for and praying about talking to Tashi for the first time and received tremendous support and encouragement from the brothers who were visiting. With much anticipation, our team hosted the newly formed ACWR Jamaica Operations Committee (JOC) consisting of John Huber, Loren and Marlene Dettweyler and Alan and Joanne Roth. We had productive and genuine conversation and all felt exhorted and encouraged by the presence of the Holy Spirit and the love we shared with and for each other. We are truly blessed with a local team here on the island and a US-based support group that seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and show love one to another. Our weekend together consisted of five separate meetings discussing topics from mission statements to material aid approach to long term ministry. The group was also able to visit with several of the locations and ministries that ACWR supports and has been sending aid to for decades. Pray with us as we seek to offer humble deeds of service to those in need and to be wise stewards of the resources He has provided for us to distribute.

Acts 19:18-20

Also many of those who were now believers came, confessing and divulging their practices. And a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted the value of them and found it came to fifty thousand pieces of silver. So the word of the Lord continued to increase and prevail mightily.
A PRAISE REPORT Sweet fellowship and productive discussions with our ACWR team. May God keep us close! Safe travels and wonderful time with family for my brothers wedding Jordan, my brother-in-law, successfully found a place to live and moved in on February 16th. This was a huge answer to prayer for all of us and we are excited for Jordan to enter this new stage of life
