February 12, 2012 Dear Friends and Family: Our church member Rodney Ridley, Jr. has an opportunity to attend Youth Power Invasion, which is a mission trip to Brasilia, Brazil in South America, through Global Awakening, a world-wide ministry. He will have the oppurtunity to work with about 300 youths in Brazil, from June 27 to July 10, 2012. We believe God has truly called him to attend and has promised to make the words from Rodneys mouth like fire (Jeremiah 5:14). Rodney has accepted this call and would like to be trained to speak Gods words in a way that will be both powerful and effective. The Youth Power Invasion missions trip consists of two phases. In the first phase of the trip, the youth will be trained in words of knowledge, prayer, and intercession, in addition to walking in love. They will aslo receive training in cultural sensitivity, language, and how to minister in what can be a challenging and hazaduous environemnt both physically and spirtually. They will then be commissioned and released to go and do the works of Jesus. In the second phase of the trip, the youth will form teams and go out to teach and preach the gospel across the city. Rodney has truly sensed a deep call on his life to help and serve youths. Since he was very young, he has participated in a various ministry outreaches with his family and church. Over the last four years this ministry activity has been primarily focused on serving and training youth, including the creation of Super Natural Kids Ministry (http://ChristianChildren.com) which he helped design and run for this purpose. The Global Awakenings Youth Power Invasion is a unique opportunity for young people like Rodney to receive extensive training and to be released into youth ministry by established youth pastors and ministry leaders like Randy Clark,Will Hart, Tom Jones, and Jamie Galloway. We are asking that you kindly and prayerfully consider helping Rodney make the call from God to go to to Brazil a reality. As the word says And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? (Romans 10:14-15). Rodney needs to raise $5,000.00 to participate in this trip and its related expenses. He will also need prayer support as he prepares for living in a new culture, serving others while trying to communicate with language barriers, and other challenges.
