Kirk Cameron sees that something isnt quite right here in America. The Growing Pains actor, who is now a well-known Evangelical speaker and leader, has set out to tackle some tough issues in his new documentary, Monumental. In the film, Cameron explores the problems that exist in American society, while delving into ways in which we can recapture the countrys national treasure and return to our roots. There is something seriously sick in the soul of our country, Cameron proclaims in the film.

HehascenteredthefilmaroundastatuaryinPlymouth,Massachusetts calledtheMonumenttotheForefathers,averypagan,Masonicshrine.Thefilm title,Monumental,obviouslyplaysofftheword,monument.Infact,the monumentisfeaturedonthecoverartforthefilm. WhatdoesdisturbmeandotherslikeBrannonHowse,isthatKirk CameronhascenteredthisefforttoreturntoandproclaimourChristianroots,to averypaganpieceofMasonicstatuary.

Infact,IwatchedavideoclipofKirkstandingatthemonumentand callingittheAmericanChristiansownGigal. The first time we read about Gilgal is in Deut 11:28 where it is spoken of as the place they would come to once they had crossed the Jordan and were in the land. It was the first place they possessed in the land that God had given them. Kirk Cameron was probably referring to Joshua, Chapter 4 when he made that remark.
Josh 4:19-24 On the tenth day of the first month the people went up from the Jordan and camped at Gilgal on the eastern border of Jericho. And Joshua set up at Gilgal the twelve stones they had taken out of the Jordan. He said to the Israelites, In the future when your descendants ask their fathers, What do these stones mean? tell them, Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground. For the LORD your God dried up the Jordan before you until you had crossed over. The LORD your God did to the Jordan just what he had done to the Red Sea when he dried it up before us until we had crossed over.

This is the secret Lions Paw Grip of the Master Mason, a secret grip that identifies the user having the highest Blue Lodge Degree of Master Mason. In the Master Mason initiation, the candidate lies in a state mimicking death and the Master of the Lodge raises him as it were to new life [from death] using the Lion's Paw Grip. The sword is representative of a Knights Templar broadsword, a soldiers sword, and not an officers sword which is far more elaborate. The Lions Paw grip sitting on his shoulder represents the approval of a master on a servant. I have given a quick look at a monument filled with Masonic symbolism and relatively little accompanying Christianity. The Bible in the hand of the main figure means little.
