Two types of outline agreements: scheduling agreements and contracts Scheduling agreements sales document type: DS (disposition) and

also BL & DEL for automotive component industry Contracts have 2 sales document types: WK1 using Item Cat. WKN and WK2 using WKC. Scheduling agreement is between you and the sold-to-party Contracts are between you and the customer (the partners are also allowed to release contract). Release order in itself is nothing but all the types of sales documents allowed to act as part of the outline agreements (configured in VOV8) For scheduling agreements dates and quantities are decided upon as completed in the sales document. when delivery is due as defined by the schedule line in DS (sales document type), delivery can be created as usual or through the delivery due list. The amount if manually overridden for the quantity to be delivered is checked against the target quantity and a warning is issued if the quantity entered in outbound plus already shipped exceeds the target quantity (total agreed upon in the agreement). check is available for the sales order or any other document to check for any open outline agreements in VOV8: blank - no check A/B - header/item check and displays the option of going to the agreement(s) or continuing or cancelling C/D - header item check. automatically adopts the agreement if its unique and displays it in the information bar at the bottom E/F - header/item check. goes to the list automatically for the agreements and acts like C/D if the agreement is unique Orders can be associated retrospectively to the contracts. Contracts can only be updated if the assignment is done on an item level. Contracts can be billed per release order or directly. They have to be completely released however otherwise they can't be billed directly. Document type WA is used for releasing them. Contracts obviously don't have any schedule lines just quantity or value depending on the situation. The schedule lines are created with release orders. Quantity/amount of the release order in this case is also checked against the open quantity/amount of contract and the user gets to decide how the system should react if the amount exceeds (no response, error, 2 diff. warnings). Material and customer restrictions can be applied and so can be special agreements like discounts. Material restrictions can be applied in two ways 1. assortment module that basically enlists all materials allowed for a time period 2 .Product hierarchy subset allowed for a time period Release orders are created with reference to contracts.

As partners can also get to release orders, to check if it has the authorization the check mark "CHECK PARTNER" needs to be ticked in VOV8. This checks for authorization of the relevant partners. Multiple SHs, if they are being used, will appear as a list to be chosen from. More importantly, to enable the releasing partner to be different than the SP for the contract, you need to play with copy control that uses requirement 002 (header -different customer) Rule A: check contract partners. Customer List can be used to store all partners that can be used to release orders. Contract Data in Sales documents can be configured in 3 ways (VOV8): Blank - no contract data allowed X - Contract data is permitted. Changes in header are not reflected in the items. Y - Contract data is permitted. Changes in header are reflected in items and log is made to show inconsistencies. Date determination can also be used to propose automatically dates for the contract. Like starting date can be today's date or the installation date or something. Rules can be defined in customizing. Any interval specified can be added to propose the end date. Then there is DURATION CATEGORY a component of the date determination rule to help find the end date of contract. Then there are contract profiles of the contract that actually store specific information to a particular contract and save time of data entry every time these are made. These could be: -start/end date of the contract -duration category -cancellation procedure -subsequent activities
