EMCO was bought over by the founder, Late Mr. Damodardas Gandhi as a small mechanical workshop from an Australian gentleman named Mr. Ernst Murray from whom the brand name EMCO has been derived (Ernst Murray & Co.). This was in 1947 when independence had dawned in India which in it's wake led to India's industrialization.

EMCO ELECTRONICS established in 1973 initially as an R&D outfit progressively grew into a full-fledged manufacturing & marketing organization. It started off by manufacturing Test, Measurement, Control Devices & Instruments which activity has today become the company's CORE COMPETENCY. Infact the CORE strength accumulated by the company over last few years has enabled EMCO ELECTRONICS to enter into new lines of business like Marketing, establishment of PCB Test &

Repair center, Instrumentation etc. A Branch office at Bangalore provides Sales & Service for Southern Region.

For last 15 years our company is undertaking the Diagnostics & Repairs of very complex Boards. EMCO ELECTRONICS is also a Govt. of India recognized R&D center & an ISO 9001:2008 Certified company. On Design & Manufacturing side as on today, EMCO has made products which are "pioneering" products viz. Automatic Voltage Regulating Relays (AVRs), Tap Position Indicators (TPI), Remote Oil Temperature Indicator (ROTI), Remote Winding Temperature Indicator (RWTI), Voltage Controller Control Unit (VCCU), Paralell Control Unit (PCU), 4-20mA Transmitter, Transformer Temperature Controller (TTC), We may also add that EMCO ELECTRONICS holds virtual monopoly in AVRs. Emco also markets products manufactured by Bharani Electronics, Chennai. Products include Annunciators, Buzzers, AMF Controllers and Power Packs with life time warranty. Emco is a professionally managed company headed by Mrs. Ila B. Gandhi and assisted by Mrs. Priya Khandwala. The company has over 50 people with a total exceeding 300 man years of experiance in Electronics and Electrical induastry.
