1. Feature
Monitoring fault include: Over Frequency, Low Frequency, High Coolant Temperature,
Low Oil pressure, Over Crank, Low Fuel Level, Low Coolant Level, Low Battery,
Sensor Open and Sensor Short.
System Indicate: Off, Auto, Manual, Pre-Heat, Stop, Run and Idle.
Information display: Coolant temperature, Oil pressure, Running hour, Frequency and
DC volt.
Parameters can be setup by user as required.
8-membrance key for programming facility and swapping display information.
Super wide operating DC power range from 8 to 38 volts.
Equipped with high security terminal connector that provide easy plug-in and removal.
Ultra low power consumption 100 mA @ 12V; 50 mA @ 24V.
Two color screen light make it easier to distinct system in normal or fault status.

2. Introduction
GTR-20 is a full digitized controller equipped with all basic functions such as display
error message, detect input, measured signal and generator status. When the error occurred,
GTR-20 shuts down the engine, diagnosis can be known easily by reading LCD panel
information. Parameters can be adjusted from front panel in accordance with any special
requirement. Operating DC power range is from 8 to 38 volts, and low power consumption in
standby mode which suitable for small battery charger.

4.4 Function of button

a. Under password input mode, this key is used for code #1 input.
b. Under running status, this key is used for stopping generator.
c. Under configure mode, this key is used for changing parameter page.

4.5 System configuration description


4.5.1 Stop duration
Range: 5~40 sec
Default: 10 sec
Description: Engine stopping time, this will affect the duration of the stop output.
4.5.2 Pre-heat duration
Range: 0~10 sec
Default: 0 sec
Description: The time to pre-heat engine before start.
4.5.3 Crank attempts
Range: 1~9 attempts
Default: 3 attempts
Description: When cranking attempts is equal or greater than this setting, system indicates over crank
failure.

4.5.4 Cooling duration
Range: 0~1250 sec
Default: 5 sec
Description: When system is accepted normal stopping command, generator will be in the cooling run
until the time of this setting is reached.
4.5.5 Idle duration
Range: 0~1250 sec
Default: 0 sec
Description: The interval of idle running.
4.5.6 Low battery voltage
Range: 9~32 V
Default: 11 V
Description: When battery voltage is under this setting, system indicates a low battery voltage failure.
4.5.7 High frequency setting
Range: 48~70 Hz
Default: 66 Hz
Description: When frequency is greater than this setting, system indicates a high frequency failure and
shuts the engine down.
4.5.8 Function enable
Range: 0~255
Default: 127
Description: Select function according your specification.

⌦ The setting of disable “Low frequency” & “L.O.P” is

4.5.9 Low frequency setting
Range: 42~61 Hz
Default: 54 Hz
Description: When frequency is under this setting, system indicates a low frequency failure.

Range: 0~31
Default: 29
Description: Select switch type for the protective input switch.

⌦ In table “1” means input switch is [normal open type], “0” means input switch is [normal close
type].
⌦ The setting can be calculated by adding all related bit multiplies its weighted value.
⌦ The setting of the L.F.L switch (N.C.) and EMS switch (N.C.) is
16 * 0 + 8 * 1 + 4 * 1 + 2 * 0 + 1 * 1 = 13
4.5.11 Oil pressure switch delay
Range: 0.1~6 sec
Default: 1.2 sec
Description: If the system’s setting “Release motor by O.P. switch” is enabled, when oil pressure
switch is activated and the active period is longer than this setting, the controller will release the
starter motor. This setting is nothing to do with low oil pressure delay.
4.5.12 Coolant temperature sender brand selection
Range: 0~2
Default: 0
Description: User can select which brand is used for measuring coolant temperature.
(0: SUSUKI, 1: SCD, 2: VDO)
4.5.13 Lubricant pressure sender brand selection
Range: 0~3
Default: 0
Description: User can select which brand is used for measuring lubricant pressure.
(0: SUSUKI, 1: SCD, 2: VDO 10 BAR, 3: VDO 5 BAR)

5. Operating Description
5.1 Connect the required wire with engine.

5.2 The front panel turns on every ICON and segment when connected the battery with controller. It is for
examining indication of the LCD panel. After 3 seconds, LCD panel shows “frequency value” and the
running hours.

5.3 Press button can switch the system mode, the mode sequence is OFF mode, CODE mode, AUTO
mode, and then MANUAL mode.

5.4 Press button under AUTO, MANUAL mode, the terminal G35, G36 close to energize the Auxiliary
relay driving the heater system.

5.5 In the AUTO mode, engine can be started through terminal G18, G19 shorted. When terminal G18, G19
opened, it either stop the running engine or remained standstill.

5.6 In the MANUAL mode, controller only accepts the button to be a start command. In this mode the
multiple cranking function is in vain.

5.7 Press button stop the running engine.

5.8 Press button force the engine go into idle mode by close terminal G37, G38, when engine in the
rated speed.

5.9 Press button let the engine back to rated speed (by open terminal G37, G38), when engine in the idle
mode.

5.10 In the code mode, press the correct Password “1 2 1 5”, then press button, controller then switches
to Parameter setting mode form CODE mode.

5.11 Press button or button changes parameter item, press button or button
increases or decreases parameter setting, press button escapes setting mode without saving, press
button saves the Parameter setting and remains in the setting mode.
