During the Sekhukhune District Cosatu march on Wednesday the emphaisis was on labour brokers, with memorandums forwarded to businesses, mine houses and government. The special emphasis on the opposition to labour brokers is because of the rapid development in the area and the influence the system may have on future employment. The riot Police were present, but everything went without a hitch with mionr disruption to traffic and the normal goings on in Burgersfort. They were just late, about two hours, but afterwards those who came from far still had the opportunity to do some shopping ...
Bottom: Sekhukhune District Municipality Executive Mayor, Mogobo David Magabe, received the Cosatu memorandum on behalf of government.

Constable Mapula Mnisi with the unlicenced pistol busy raping her. The matter was reported in Tubatse Police. The accused, Nyasha Chikane, appeared in the Praktiseer Magistrates Court on 05 March 2012 and he was not granted bail. The case was postponed to 14 March 2012. The Tubatse Police again requested women to stop walking alone during nighttime and also to stop going to taverns. The Police say in most of the rape cases they found that the victims were from taverns and they were drunk. On 04 March 2012 the Police in Tubatse arrested a 27 year old man in connection with housebreaking and theft. The arrest followed after an incident that occurred between 22 and 24 February 2012 in Ga- Madiseng. A 34-year old man alleged that his house was broken into and items such as an amplifier, home theatre system and grinder were stolen. On 24 March the case was reported in Tubatse Police and follow-ups were done and led to the arrest of the suspect on 04 March. The accused, Themba Mbuyane, appeared in the Praktiseer Magistrates Court on 06 March and he was granted the bail of R1000. The case was postponed to 20 April 2012.
Lieutenant Godffrey Mohale of Burgersfort Police Station with the wreckage of the car that was involved in an accident with a truck on Sunday on the Steelpoort - Lydenburg road. The Burgersfort Police has again warned motorists to drive careful after six people died on roads around Steelpoort and Burgersfort during the past week. On Friday at about 18:00 three vehicles were involved in an accident on the Steelpoort - Roossenekal road. The Police say that according to eyewitnesses a Toyota car that was coming from the direction of Roossenekal lost control and swerved into the oncoming lane. As a result the carr collided head-on with an on coming van. A third vehicle then drove into the accident. The Police say the driver of the van was rushed to hospital, where he later passed away. Another person dien on the scene of the accident. A case of culpable homicide is investigated by the Police. Police say the large number of heavy vehicles on the Steelpoort - Roossenekal road make this road especially dangerous and motorists should take extra care early in the morning and late in the afternoon during heavy traffic. The other accident took place on Sunday, also at about 18:00 on the Steelpoort Lydenburg road. According to eyewitnesses a truck was driving from Lyedenburg to Steelpoort . The truck driver apparently lost control and a heas-on collision took place with a car. Four people died on the scene, while another two were taken to hospital with serious injuries. A case of culpable homicide is investigated.

On Friday 2 March 2012 ASA Metals / Dilokong Chrome Mine employees supported the 2012 CANSA Shavathon. The company took part in this event by inspiring employees as well as the OPSCO Members to support and contribute towards this worthy cause. Mr. Leon Erasmus (General Manager Smelter) set a challenge to the ladies who organized the Shavathon to collect a grand total of R10 000. Only then, he would allow them to shave his hair. It was a fun day with lots of laughter and all participants were rewarded with an ice cold cool drink sponsored by ESS. The ASA Shavathon Team also got very creative with the spraying of heads and created all sorts of new interesting fashionable hair styles. You could chose from a variety of stencils representing Bafana Bafana and the Super Ruby teams. Unfortunately for Mr. Erasmus the challenge was not as hard as he anticipated. At the end of the day a grand total of R10 000 was raised through the help of 36 shaved heads, 37 sprayed heads, 9 pledges and the ASA OPSCO Team. ASA Metals / Dilokong Chrome Mine would like to thank all who participated in whichever way. Your contributions will make a huge difference in helping the fight against Cancer in South Africa.

Mr Faizal Raza and Mr Safun Ali said: Weve found that the sizes differ. Some clothes come from China and others from European countries. That is why it is different. If they make it the same size it will be good. SA people are tall. Regs: Mnr.
Mr Ipeleng Mohitlheng said: No, I have never had a problem with sizes as I always buy at one shop. Levis and Guess label sizes are not the same.
Links: Mnr.
Mr Tumelo Molobela said: Ive had that problem with trousers. They were too small. They must create jobs in South Africa by building factories to make clothes and shoes. They must then all be manufactured to the standard size.
Mr Terrence Komane said: Normally I would think that different patterns fit differently. A slim-fit will not be the same as a regular fit. The problem is more in terms of the shop assistants that cannot advise customers. They must get training and be able to provide customer service. Service in Burgersfort is ridiculous! Mnr.
Mr Calvin Matjeke said: Yes, it has happened to me with my shoes. I wear a size 7 but had to go and get a size 8. They must keep in mind when they standardise our sizes that we are not eating the same food as overseas people, so our bodies are not the same. Regs: Me.

Mr Ben Madigage said: Yes, Ive had that. They must make the clothes here so that it is the right size.
Mr Lehlogonolo Mkhondo said: I bought a T-shirt, but took it back because it was not the right size. Markhams and Totalsport have different sizes of medium. In South Africa we are a little fatter than in the rest of the world and manufacturers must keep that in mind.
Ms Jacqueline Mkase said: Yes, I bought a jean and it was too big down there at the feet. It will be good if sizes are standardised. It will be best if we make our clothes here in South Africa where we know our shapes. China is far for us to bring clothes from. If we make it here, it will create jobs.
Me. Veral by kettingwinkels.
Mr Phanuel Masinga said: Ive seen that. They take international sizes and it will be better if they standardise South African sizes. Our people are not the same. The stuff from Thailand is short and we here in South Africa are tall.
Mr Anthony Molapo said: Yes, Ive experienced the different sizes with a trouser I bought. They must follow standard sizes.
Mr Olian Simbin said: The clothes must be made the same size. People must also fit before they buy. Ive not had that problem because I use the fitting rooms.
Mnr.
Mr Eric Hlungwane and Mr Godfrey Mkhombo said: Ive (Mkhombo) had that problem. I wear an XXXL and when I recently fitted at a shop it was like a L. They make lots of clothes in China, but you will never get a Chinese man my size! They are short like my friend Eric here. They must start manufacturing the clothes in South Africa and not in China. Im African and they must make African sizes.
Ms Elsie Serage said: Ive had that problem. It is good that they want to equalize the sizes. You then know that it is standardised. Maybe South Africans will get jobs through this effort and poverty will be reduced. With her is Janet Serage.
Standardisering is n utopia.
Right: Mr Sharief Phiri and Ms Patricia Matchia said: Weve had experience of that and ended up having to buy another one because the first did not fit according to the label. It will be good if they make it all the same size.
Mr Louis Mashego and Mr Thobi Lebese said: They must hire professional people to sort out the problems with the sizes. They have a problem with measurement. Especially the Chinashops have not the same sizes as the well-known stores.

Antibiotics are used to treat bacterial infections. These drugs stop the growth of bacteria or kill the bacteria directly. They are ineffective when treating infections caused by viruses, which include the majority of colds, sore throats (exception for the streptococcus-induced sore throat), coughs, and flu-like illnesses. Taking antibiotics when you dont need them will not speed up your recovery and can lead to your body developing a resistance to the antibiotics your are taking. This will make it more difficult to treat bacterial infections in future. Remember: Take all the medication the doctor has prescribed for the recommended period. Antibiotics are fast acting and you may feel better quickly, but complete the prescribed course. This will ensure that the infection wont occur again. Dont take antibiotics which had not been prescribed for you. All medication is prescribed with your personal medical history, allergens etc. in mind. That is why you should not just assume that what worked for someone else will work for you. Never save some of your antibiotics for later. Because antibiotics are fast acting it is wise to ask your doctor when you can expect to see an improvement and what you should do if the condition does not improve. Antibiotics can have side effects. Nausea, diarrhea and allergic reactions are some of the common side effects. Antibiotics can kill naturally occuring bacteria in the body and you may develop yeast infections while taking antibiotics. Be sure to find out from your doctor what side effects you may experience from taking the medication. If your doctor switches your medication or tells your to stop taking it, always dispose of it properly. You can take the medication back to your pharmacist who will be able to dispose of it ina safe way. Note that you will not be refunded on medication that you take to the pharmacy to be disposed of. Your doctor should examine you everytime an antibiotic is prescribed. Make sure that you know whether you should be taking the medication with food and whether you will need to change your eating habits for the treatment period. Other precautions you may have to take is for example avoiding sunlight and no alcohol consumption. If you have any questions, ask rather than guess.

In recent weeks new road signs were erected along the R555 between Burgersfort and Steelpoort. Some of the older ones have however not been removed, giving motorists confusing instructions. In this particular case, 20m after the 60km sign the speed limit is increased for the section through the Steelpoort business area.

Caddies show they can
Politicians, business and development teams at Tubatse Chrome Club
The annual Steelpoort based Thorburn Security Solutions Golf Day on 3 March 2012 was not only about saying thank you to the Sekhukhune community for doing business in the area, it was also about caring. In 2011 Thorburn Security Solutions also cared when they contributed to the Eastern Limb Mines Executive Mayors Road Race with various forms of sponsorships supporting community members. Both the Executive Mayor for Sekhukhune Cllr Mogabo David Magabe and Tubatse Mayor Cllr J.N. Mhlake accepted the Thorburn Security Solutions invite and participated as players in the Thorburn Golf Day. Despite for sponsoring this event (which also saw teams invited from various business and charity sectors from the Greater Tubatse Area, a youth development team as well as women team) Thorburn also reached out to the needs of golf lovers in the area. A team made up of Caddies from the Tubatse Chrome Club was sponsored with clothing by Thorburn whilst all caddies that worked on the day also received a food hamper from Thorburn Security Solutions. Each player and participating caddie also received a T shirt which symbolizes the importance of Sekhukhune. Prizes to the value of R10 000 was won on the day and the Tubatse Club prepared a special Top left: Some of the Thorburn Security Solutions team at the Assado sheep braai. (Argentinean Assado-style) sheep braai lunch for the players. Caddies working on the day were also entertained with boerewors roles and cold drinks. Thorburn puts a lot of emphasis on the development of disadvantaged people including the caddies at the Tubatse Chrome Club. Annually caddies at Tubatse Chrome Blub are issued with identifiable reflective gear and a lot of progress has been made in promoting the concept of caddies development. The huge golfing potential that development players such as the Caddie Development Team portrayed was evident when the Caddie Development Team won the day. (Information: Dolf Scheepers, Thorburn Security Solutions).
