Printing Collagraph

To design and make a printing plate using a mixture of materials.

An understanding of the effects created using mixed media for printing

Facilitate learning. Demonstrate how different effects are created

Direct printing from different objects to Make a printable plate using the various found objects. (Plate will be printed from at a later session)

To design and make a plate using drypoint techniques on plexiglass

Ability to choose suitable images for drypoint printing Knowledge of the process involved in making a drypoint print

Facilitate learning. Discuss how to choose a suitable image Demonstrate how to draw on the plate using needles and burnishers

Printing Press (at NAGAS)

To learn the process involved in making

Knowledge of how to ink printing plates and put them through the press

Facilitate learning. Demonsrtate how to ink a plate and put it through the press

Choose or design an image Transfer image to plexiglass by either laying it behind and tracing or by drawing it free hand Use various tools to draw out design (Printing from this plate will be done in a later session) Wet paper Ink plates Put inked plates trough press
