WBS Dictionary
4.3.1. Foundation
Project engineer and architect must decide on what kind of foundation is needed for the house. Foundation must meet the design requirements and also be compliant with the building code. Construction team will excavate the site and lay the foundation. Duration: 6 weeks

4.3.2. Framing
The purpose of framing is to create house frame from wooden studs on top of the foundation. Construction team will do floor framing first and then walls framing. Project engineer must make sure that framing meets the building code regulations. Architect must check that framing is done according to the floor plan. Duration: 8 weeks

4.3.3. Windows and doors installation


Project manager must arrange windows and doors delivery to arrive in time for the installation. Construction team will start with exterior doors and windows installation and will finish with interior doors. Duration: 1 week

4.3.4. Roofing
There is no roofers in the company, so project manager must hire a roofing company. Project engineer will provide quality control. Project manager must negotiate a contract with roofing company so that work must be approved by project engineer before roofing company gets paid. Duration: 1 week

4.3.5. Siding
The purpose of siding is to cover exterior walls with protective materials to shed water and to reduce weather impact. Project manager will ensure that siding materials are ready 2 days before scheduled siding date. Architect must provide quality control to ensure that siding meets design requirements and overall quality standards. Duration: 1 week

4.4.1. Electrical
This entry covers rough electrical works. The electrician must make sure that power runs to the house. Layout of all the boxes for electrical outlets, lights and switches must be confirmed by the architect. The electrician will run wires across the house to connect electrical components. Duration: 3 weeks

4.4.2. Plumbing
Rough plumbing involves installing all of the water lines, sewer lines and bathtubs. Project manager must hire a plumbing company to do plumbing for the house. Project engineer will provide quality control. Duration: 2 weeks

4.4.3. Insulation
The purpose of insulation is to lower the heating and cooling costs for the house by limiting heat transfer through the walls and the ceiling. Project engineer must make sure that insulation is done according to the building code and industry standards. Duration: 1 week

4.4.4. Drywall
The construction team will put drywall sheets up on wooden studs. Project engineer will provide quality control. Duration: 1 week

4.5.1. Painting
The construction team will prepare the walls and ceiling for painting, and do the painting. Interior designer will supervise painting to ensure rooms are painted in right colors. Duration: 1 week

4.5.2. Flooring
The construction team will cover floors according to interior design. Interior designer will provide quality control. Duration: 1 week
