likelystory

story [stawr-ee] - noun 1. a narrative, either true or ctitious, designed to interest, amuse, or instruct. 2. a tall tale. tail.

We are theatre-makers and storytellers. Our aim has always been to create work for the theatre that ignites the imagination of our audiences as well as pushing ourselves creatively to nd new ways of telling classic tales.
As a company we know that simple story telling can be magical and that stories come alive through imaginative use of ourselves and of everyday objects. In our productions a watering can poured into a suitcase of tinfoil becomes a rainstorm; an umbrella becomes a crow and shadows tell the story of a giant and a small girl. We work collaboratively and draw on the diverse range of skills within the company. Our work has included elements of circus, physical theatre, live music, multimedia and most importantly a playful delight in sharing stories with our audiences. Each new project we undertake furthers our development as a company. We are constantly evolving, allowing our methods and the work to develop in response to creative partners and challenges. We are excited to be on a constant voyage of discovery and that joy shines through in our work. Based in Cardiff and working throughout the UK the core company build relationships with a range of associate artists including actors, directors, designers and composers committed to working collaboratively. Company members have international experience of project management, producing, directing, developing creative learning projects, marketing, fund-raising, and stage management. These skills enable us to realise projects to a high standard. In addition to our small scale touring work the company has been commissioned to produce interactive street performances for a number of organisations. Work includes a national campaign for Time to Change, tackling mental health discrimination as well as street theatre on two wheels for London Freewheel (2009 & 2010) and Ride it at the Manor, Sutton. These experiences enable the company to continue to explore the relationship with the audience and create playful, visual spectacles that communicate clear messages. We have been thrilled by Likely Storys production. It has gone down beautifully with audiences of all ages, proving itself to be one of those rare shows that works for everyone.
