Terms

and Conditions
While we endeavour to be as flexible as possible, it is important that we adhere to certain rules to avoid disappointment and confusion for both parties, BSLCOURSES.CO.UK and the applicants/students. Viewing Video Classes These are in your student account (after logging in) in the Courses section. Refunds Payments made are non-refundable and non-transferrable between courses and workshops (coming soon). Refunds are only considered in exceptional circumstances where the person enrolling has contacted us with 48 hours of making the enrolment. Any such refunds are made at our discretion and are subject to an administration fee of 25 per place enrolled. Tutorials/Assessments ALL assessments for Level 1 Award and Level 2 Certificate qualifications must be completed at a physical assessment centre after the online training is complete. It is most likely the students allocated tutor will be person meeting them at the centre. The location of the assessment centre, and date, is dependant on all our students locations and dates of completing their courses. This is why several locations, and throughout the year, will be set up across the UK to try accommodate all students as conveniently as possible. Students are reminded to attend all webcam tutorials that they arrange with their tutor. All BSL courses require students to complete their tutorials to receive more class videos in their student account and, ultimately, prepare them for the assessments and gain qualification, where necessary Should a student fail to attend any tutorial, at the initial date and time agreed between the tutor and student, and failure to inform the tutor 48 hours beforehand that they cannot attend, they will lose the tutorial altogether and would have to make up the time in the following tutorial. However, should the student feel

that their missed tutorial is indeed required, they may face paying an administration fee for such rearrangement (see prices, below). Class materials, scheduled after tutorials, cannot be released in to the students Classes section until the tutor has uploaded the tutorial clip in to the students Tutorials page. It is the students responsibility to complete tutorials, just as it is in a normal classroom environment, for further progression in the course. Unless, of course, it is the students agreement in writing to their tutor/assessor that they do not wish to complete the missed tutorial whereby class material will be released, despite this method being highly advised against and that, without the expert advise/feedback from our tutors/assessors and practice thereof, it would most likely hinder the students development toward qualification. Arrangement of Tutorials The tutor will initially propose dates and times, via Messages, for the students consideration to try arrange the webcam tutorials scheduled to happen throughout the course. If the tutors proposals also suit the student, the student must then confirm such arrangements in their relevant Tutorials sections, under Courses, in their student account, by clicking on their Confirm button. On the other hand, if the student find that the tutors proposal is not suitable, the student can email their tutor, via the Messages section, to suggest an alternative date and time of when they can do it. If the tutor is happy with the students counter-proposal, they will confirm them. But if the tutor cannot do it for some reason, they will propose another date and time for the students consideration. This method of proposals and counter-proposals will continue until both the student and tutor can agree on a suitable date and time. However, if the student is uncertain of a date and time for a tutorial, they can wait until nearer the time but no less than 48 hours before the tutors proposal. As mentioned above, course/class materials scheduled after tutorials cannot be released in to the students Classes Table until the tutor has uploaded the tutorial clip in to the students Tutorials page. It is the students responsibility to complete tutorials, just as it is in normal classroom environments, for further progression in the course. Failure to do so may result in paying an administration fee to arrange another one (see prices below). Course Duration

January 2012

All online courses durations are based on the number of Weeks (or sections) from the date of when the student enrolled on their course. Each Week is a minimum of 7 days until the next scheduled Week is triggered to start (please note that a Week is not a deadline but rather a goal for students to achieve). For example, most courses, in Week 1, will have an Introduction video clip and the first class video released in to the students Account for them to watch and practice with for 7 days until it is then time for them to arrange a webcam tutorial with their tutor sometime during Week 2. Once the tutorial has been completed, the tutor will upload the recorded tutorial on to the students account in which will then trigger Week 3 to start as scheduled. And so on until the end of the course. As mentioned above, class materials scheduled after tutorials cannot be released in to the students Classes section until the tutor has uploaded the tutorial clip in to the students Tutorial Table. tutorials, just as it is in normal classroom environments, for further progression in the course. Unless, of course, it is the students agreement in writing to their tutor/assessor that they do not wish to complete the missed tutorial whereby the class material will be released, despite this method being highly advised against and that, without the expert advise/feedback from our tutors/assessors, and practice thereof, it would most likely hinder the students development toward qualification. Course Information BSLCOURSES.CO.UK will endeavour to keep all course information correct and up- to-date. However, we reserve the right to alter course details, including tutor and assessor details and allocation, or course material, at any time should any unforeseen circumstances occur. Any changes would be notified by email. Student Details BSLCOURSES.CO.UK will keep any student details on a database held only by us for the purposes of administration, market research and mailing, by post or email, of our own publicity from time to time. Please see our Data Protection policy for more details. Webcam Tutorial Requirements To maximise the quality (speed) of webcam conversations during a tutorial, all students are asked to do the following, wherever possible: - turn off all other electrical equipment that share the broadband connection, especially phone devices, printers, laptops, etc, that use the wireless option; - ideally (although not compulsory), for a stronger, faster and more secured broadband speed, connect your computer to the broadband hub/router directly by using an Ethernet cable and try not to use the wireless option; - make your webcam window as small as you can (this stops clogging up, or slowing down, the processing speed required for the graphics involved for webcam usage) we find that a webcam window of just 4 inches (regardless of the computers resolution setting) works well for both sides of the conversation. Administration fees for missed tutorials (fee includes VAT) January 2012

Administration fees take in to account the tutors/assessors time for the session and the uploading time of the recorded clip of the session on to the students account. The same would apply to any PayPal instalments having not been received at a scheduled monthly date from enrolment, the course would be put on hold until the payment is cleared.
