- Course descriptions: History of Economic Thought provides understanding about the evolvement of economic thought through diferent periods of time in history, from Mercantilism to Classicism, Political Economy of Marxism, Neo-classicism, Economic theory of Keynes and Keynesian, and Neo-liberalism. On that basis, the course provides economic points of view and theories systematically, which help learners study other economic courses,

especially the courses related to market economy such as Macro Economics, Micro Economics, Development Economics, Econometrics, International Trade, Marketing, Management Science and others - Course objectives Knowledge: After the course, students will understand the formation, evolution and transformation of economic theories in history, as well as the laws of economic theory development. Students can realize the contribution of economic theories to economic science in general, and to each fields of economics in particular. Skills: After the course, students can

Analyze the economic theories of outstanding economists, Evaluate economic theories and participate in solving economic issues of modern economies in the view of history of economic thought. Facilitate critical thinking relateing to issues of history of economic theories

Midterm Exam -

One mid-term test Duration of the test: 50 minutes Time of the test: In the 10th week of the course (announce in advance) Weight of the test: 20% to the final course grade

Contents and struture: Individual, at class, writing, short answer questions / short essay writing.

Final Exam After the course, follow timetable and requirement of FTU: 50% to the final course grade

Criteria for assessment To gain a good grade, student need to analyze and synthesize the ideas of economic schools compare and contrast the ideas, arguments and statements of economists in their theories draw conclusions.
