for nominations for Director of Officials and Director of Rules

Would you like to be considered for one of the two Gay Bowl-focused appointed positions on the NGFFL Board the Director of Officials, or the Director of Rules? The NGFFL Board, according to the updated Bylaws approved in December 2011, consists of seven elected positions plus two positions that are appointed by the elected Board members. If you, or someone you know, would like to be considered for one of the two appointed positions, please submit your nomination to NGFFL Director of Operations and Special Projects Jared Garduno at jared_garduno@yahoo.com. TIMELINE AND PROCESS Friday, March 2, 9pm Pacific: Nominations due to the Board. Tuesday, March 13: Board votes and makes its appointment to each position by simple majority vote. Wednesday, March 14: Board announces new appointments to all nominees and designated points of contact at NGFFL member organizations. JOB DESCRIPTIONS The NGFFL Bylaws provide detailed job descriptions for these two positions. They are: Director of Gay Bowl Rules of Play - Shall be appointed by the board in a simple majority vote and report to the Gay Bowl Liaison. - Shall only be extended a vote on Board Voting Matters related to Gay Bowl Rules of Play. - Shall serve a one-year term, appointed in January of each year. - Shall oversee all aspects of Gay Bowl Rules of Play: soliciting ideas for updates, overseeing the process of gathering and implementing input to proposed changes, and voting. Director of Officials - Shall be appointed by the Board in a simple majority vote and report to the Gay Bowl Liaison. - Shall only be extended a vote on the Board on Voting Matters related to Gay Bowl Rules of Play. - Shall serve a one-year term, appointed in January of each year. - Shall ensure the provision of quality referees at the Gay Bowl national championship tournament. - Shall support the recruitment of referees at other tournaments supported by the NGFFL, as needed.
