I have researched into the differences and similarities of the three types of sporting organisations which are Public, Private and Volunteer. I have chosen Phase One for Private, Southside for Volunteer and Culverhay Aqua Terra for Public.

Membership Subscriptions similar Private, Public and Volunteer, the similarity that I have found was that they both have Membership Subscriptions because they both provide facilities in which the people want and therefore pay for, the reason they have Membership Subscriptions is because you have to pay to be apart of the organisation in order to use the sporting facilities that will be provided. Government Grants The differences between the Private and Volunteer/Public are private does not receive any Government Grants where as the volunteer and public organisations do. Private will not receive them because they are a private organisation because you have to come under a certain criteria in order to receive any government grants, where as volunteer and public are eligible to receive them but the organisation I have chosen did not display any documents in which is linked to any government grants. Member Loans - difference Private can qualify to receive member loans because they are a private organisation, where as public and volunteer will not come under the circumstances as a volunteer organisation will not have the money to pay it back because they do not make any profit, and the public organisation will not find themselves in any financial situation meaning borrowing money. Financial Institution Loans difference Only private can receive financial institution loans, these are loans in which is given out by the bank, if a private organisation itself is found in any financial difficulty, the bank can loan them money but will expect it back but if the private organisation does not pay it back the bank have the power to take facilities from their establishment. Lottery Funding Volunteer and public are more than likely to receive lottery funding rather than private because the private organisation will not need it and they aren t entitled to receive any funding. I can tell you that Southside youth centre have received lottery funding at the project itself has signs saying lottery funding etc. I know from myself as a local member of the community that they have received lottery funding. Secondly, for the public organisation I am unable to display any relevant results relating to this topic but I do know that public organisations like Aqua Terra can qualify to receive national lottery funding.

Donations - difference The only organisation which is suitable to receive donations is volunteer as they are a non profit organisation; this is why people would want to donate money to the establishment to help them out. The youth centre has done bag-packing in order to receive donations; I can vouch for this because I have personal attended the event as I was part of their organisation. Public and private organisations will not receive donations as people would not want to donate money into the council or even a private establishment, because the council receives plenty of money from the government and private investments make enough profit on a daily bases. Non Government Grants Public and volunteer can only qualify for non government grants because other companies would like to invest money into another company in order to see a change in their establishment an would not want the money back in return. Volunteer and public are entitled to receive non government grants as they will be suitable but the two I have researched as of yet they have not received any. Private Investment
