Iraqi Refugee Update

Over one year ago, Our Lady of Sorrows Parish committed to sponsoring an Iraqi Family, currently living as refugees in Syria, to begin a new life in Canada. Thanks to the generosity of our parishioners, the funds and household items needed to meet our obligation as sponsors have been collected. The family recently passed their medicals and they were told to expect their Visas in about two months. Unfortunately, due to the unrest in Syria, the visa office in Damascus has closed and this familys arrival may be delayed. Although the timing of their arrival is still uncertain, the family is reporting that they are not experiencing any unrest in their immediate neighbourhood at this time. Please keep the family that our parish is sponsoring in your prayers.
