For Poles up to 10m height Design wind pressure : Pz = 0.6 Vz2 = 913 Kg/m2 say 0.95 kN/m2 For Poles up to 20m height Design wind pressure : Pz = 0.6 Vz2 = 1045 Kg/m2 say 1.05 kN/m2 The Electric Poles are manly subjected to the Wind load. Since wind load is a major load acting on the poles no increase in SBC or stresses are considered in design of foundation. 6.0 6.1 DESIGN : Data : Grade of Concrete (Conforming to IS 456-2000) Grade of Reinforcement SBC Assumed below 1.5m FGL Unit weight of soil 6.2 - M25. - Fe 415. - 120 kN/ m 2. - 16.00 kN/ m3.

DESIGN FOR 9M & 10M POLE : As the difference between 9m & 10m is less the poles designed for 10m height shall be used for 9m height. Calculation of Dead Load : The foundation is assumed to be at a depth of 1.50m & the pedestal is considered upto 0.30 m above FGL.
