But also during this drought many human beings died, and again human beings were killed and eaten, mainly children and old persons, as had been the case during the first drought. 50. As the land was recovering very slowly after the first drought and did not become fully usable for the cultivation of food, everything became even worse after the second drought. 51. That part of the soil that was still usable brought forth even less food, and so the people were living in want and had to live frugally during the following years and decades, until a third drought period broke over the land that lasted for another nearly seven years. 52.
