The Masters Programme in International Human Rights Law offers three specialisations in the areas of: International Human Rights Law, Intellectual Property Rights and International Labour Rights. The programme is offered by the Faculty of Law in cooperation with the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law. During the programme of study, students acquire in-depth knowledge of International Human Rights Law in general and, if they so choose, in one of the two additional specialisations Intellectual 3 Property Rights or International Labour Rights. http://www.jur.lu.se/master

As a student on this programme you will have the possibility to choose from a Public International Maritime Law perspective and a Private International Maritime Law perspective. You will get an insight in how international, regional and domestic sources of law interact and create tensions and legal issues, inducing effects and consequences on the shipping industry and the environment. The programme will range from basic exploration of maritime law at the international level to extensive studies related to features within the shipping industry, and economic as well as environmental impact 2 related to shipping. http://www.jur.lu.se/master The project aims at with computational means (e.g. chemical rate equations) dissect architectures abundant in stem cell decisions and analyze their dynamics in order to propose gene modifications that would alter stem cell fate. LUMID is a new interdisciplinary international master programme in Development and Management, conducted entirely in English. LUMID is open to students both from Sweden and the rest of the world who wish to prepare for a career in international aid and development cooperation, or who wish to further their academic studies with this profile. During the third term of the programme, LUMID offers students field-based courses in project and programme management. The aim of LUMID is to provide its students with the applied knowledge needed to contribute to global development within their professional roles as aid workers and development managers. LUMID received its first intake of students in the fall of 2006. The programme accepts 40 students annually and runs over two years. After successfully completing the programme students are awarded a Master of Science in International 40 Development and Management. http://www.lumid.lu.se We look for students interested in developing their http://www.lth.se/english/education/master/water_resourc 4 knowledge in climate and water related issues es/

The programme provides trans-disciplinary perspectives and analytical tools for communicating in qualified ways about problems of sustainability. It represents an important complement to technological and natural science approaches to sustainability by focusing on the cultural dimensions of consumption and resource use, cultural perceptions of environment and economy, and social science perspectives on the global distribution of environmental problems. A central aim is to help students develop skills in communicating across boundaries separating the discourses of different disciplines, cultural traditions, or the interests of business, politics, and social 30 movements. http://www.humecol.lu.se/master-s-programme

This project, which is a collaboration between the departments of geology and limnology at Lund University, focuses on the causes of recent brownification (increased content of dissolved humic matter; DHM) of South Swedish lake waters. By means of a palaeolimnological approach, we assess this development in the perspective of natural climate variability and human impact on the landscape during the last 1000 years. Sediment cores from two South Swedish lakes have been obtained and precise chronologies are being established based on radioisotope dating (14C and 210Pb). Past changes in lake-water DHM content are reconstructed based on near infrared spectroscopy of sediments. These data will be complemented by elemental carbon and nitrogen content records, C/N-ratio determination, stable isotope records (d13C and d15N), which provide information on the origin and cycling of organic matter and nutrients. We are seeking a post-doctoral researcher with expertise in 1 organic geochemistry (biomarkers and pigments). http://www.geol.lu.se/kvg/eng/ The program is linked to internationally leading research environments. The aim of the Master programme is to give a deeper understanding of the methods used by astronomers to study and understand our universe. In order to understand these, the student will need to use his or her knowledge from earlier studies in both physics and mathematics and thus also gain a better understanding of these. The programme consists of several mandatory courses, in order to give a broad knowledge about astrophysics, but also contains several optional courses, to allow the student to specialize in either observational or theoretical astrophysics. During the last three terms of the programme, the student will, in parallel with taking a few courses, undertake a research project. This will further allow the student to specialize in the subject which he or http://www.astro.lu.se/Education/Masterprogramme/index 1 she finds interesting Eng.html Within the framework of the Master Programme in Economic Growth, Innovation and Spatial Dynamics students can choose between a one-year master program (60 ECTS) or a two-year master program (120 ECTS). The Master Programme in International Economics with a Focus on China builds directly upon previous studies in economics and economic history at the bachelor level. Economists working on China related issues invariably need a broad theoretical knowledge of economics and/or economic history as well as an extensive knowledge of the countrys economic institutions, such as institutional arrangements at the micro level and the respective business environment. The programme meets this need by combining the following two core objectives: 1. To familiarise students with modern economic theories, concepts, techniques, and their applications. 2. To provide a thorough specialisation in the Chinese economy and in Chinas role in both the Asian Pacific and the global 10 economy http://www.nek.lu.se/English/education_MasterChina.asp

The key issue of the project is light harvesting efficiency of the solar cells. In conventional one-junction semiconductor solar cells all the photons with energies under the band-gap energy are lost. Even if we will be collecting all the photons with energies above the bandgap, we will lose the excess photon energy which is over the gap. The maximum possible efficiency of such solar cells is slightly above 30%. In semiconductor nanocrystals, often called quantum dots (QD), it has been found that a single light quantum can form many electronhole pairs - excitons. This effect could drastically increase the above 30% limit in efficiency of the conventional solar cells. Similarly, the so called fission of a singlet excitation into two triplet excitations, which can occur in certain molecular systems, leads to the same type of increase. In order to use these ultrafast phenomena in solar cells, 2 more basic understanding of the processes is required. http://www.chemphys.lu.se/
