Abstract
In this paper we designed a frequency dependant antenna for S and L band frequency applications. We have designed a microstrip antenna with a rectangular shaped patch element loaded with T-Strips along two of its radiating edges for triple frequency operation. The design of this antenna is being simulated in ANSOFT HFSS software. The antenna is fed with a coaxial feed. The patch element is being placed on modern Epson substrate with relative permittivity 4.2. We obtained high performance characteristics and very good return loss values for the three operational frequencies of the designed antenna.

A good antenna might have a value of -10dB as 90% of the signal is absorbed and 10% is reflected back. The proposed antenna is giving the excellent return loss curve in the specified frequency range. The curve has deep and wide dips at frequencies 1.6, 2.1and 2.5 GHz. The return loss obtained at these frequencies is -21.65, -16.43, -16.90 dB respectively. Maximum power transfer can be achieved if the impedance of the antenna is matched with the load, which involves complex conjugate of the load impedance. In Microstrip slot antennas the impedance matching is difficult to achieve. By applying proper mechanism and careful design this problem can be solved. The input impedance smith chart for the proposed antenna is presented in the figure (3). A bandwidth of 0.87% is achieved from the current design. The phase margin of 62.54 and gain crossover of 1.16 dB is obtained from the smith chart result.

Figure (4) 2D gain plot All real antennas will radiate more in some directions than in others, therefore gain is the amount of power that can achieve in one direction at the expense of power lost in the others. Gain is the one of the important parameter with respect to its performance of an antenna. The gain is always related to the main lobe and from figure (4) it is showing 6.5dBi. The 3D field distribution plots give the relationship between the co-polarization (desired) and cross-polarization (undesired) components. Moreover it gives a clear picture as to the nature of polarization of the fields propagating through the patch antenna. Figure (5) and (6) shows the E-Field and HField distribution of the T-Strip antenna. Figure (7) shows the mesh pattern of the antenna. 4. CONCLUSION
A Triple band T-Strip Slot antenna is designed and simulated. The main theme behind the design of this antenna is to reduce the size of the antenna, which can be used in the mobile communication. The results are giving moral encouragement to design multi mode antennas with lower dimensions in our future work. The results got in this paper are excellently suits for mobile communication applications in all aspects except the gain parameter. Further gain enhancement can be done with some dimensional changes and proper impedance matching.
