0 men, the Messenger has come to you with the truth from your Lord. So, believe.

That is good for you: And if you disbelieve, then, to Allah belongs what is in the heavens and the earth. And Allah is All-Knowing, All Wise [an Nisaa 4:170] - The Prophet Muhammad would love to go up to the mountain to the cave of Hira and contemplate the situation that his people and humanity was in and the vices that were happening and so on. On that mountain, you could imagine the fear that comes to a person when you're just alone in a cave on the top of a mountain and a man appears. And the man is telling him to: 'READ!' so the Prophet said to him ' I can't read.' Jibraeel grabbed the Prophet and squeezed him and pressed him so hard, so not only the fear of seeing that person there but he pressed him so hard until the Prophet said ' I felt I was going to die'. And then he let go of him and told him again 'READ!'. The Prophet said ' I can't read' and he squeezed him again until the Prophet again said ' I felt was going to die.' and he told him again 'READ!' He said ' I can't read' and Jibraeel squeezed him once more until he thought he was going to die. and then Jibraeel told him:

Read! In the name of your Lord, who created:

created man from a clot [of blood].

Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One

who taught by the pen,

taught man what he did not know. [al Alaq 1-5] - So after this, Prophet went home to his wife Khadijah whilst being frightened. She said ' What's wrong?' He said ' Zamilooni, Zamilooni [cover me, cover me]' and he was shaking. Khadijah said to Prophet Muhammad ' Allah will never do this to you. Allah will never disgrace you or humiliate you, because you fulfill the ties of kinship, you are good to the orphans, if anybody needs help, you're the one who helps them, you feed them, you take care of them, you will never be humiliated by Allah.' WHAT OF HIS CHARACTER? -The Prophet left us these words: 'Keep relations with those who cut you off, and do good to

people even if they harm you, and speak the truth even if it against yourself.' - He used to say to them: 'Behold! We have been sent a people to take the people from the worship of created things to the worship of the Creator of all things. And to save the people from injustice, in to the openness and mercy of His land and to bring justice to the Earth. Do not kill an old man amongst your enemies if he's not fighting, do not kill a woman who's not fighting. Wallahi even if she is in the ranks of the enemies, do not kill a child, do not cut off the branches of trees, do not kill an animal, and do not ruin soil, and do not be excessive in killing, do not mutilate the bodies, and look after the affairs and conditions of war, and if you hold captives out of this war, then feed them from what you feed your family, and treat them well as you would treat a guest, for they are your captives and you have power over them, and Allah does not like people who have opression over the weak ones when they have power over them!' - Prophet Muhammad used to say, "I start the prayer with the intention of lengthening it, but when I hear a child crying, I shorten the prayer, as I know its mother would suffer from his screams!" - Abdullah ibn Salaam mention: ' I was amongst the crowd hustling and jostling and shoving to come and see the Prophet and when I saw him, the first impression I had of him, I knew that his face was not the face of a liar! this is not a man that told lies' [in other words, the honesty, and the beauty, the inner beauty, and the outer beauty combined. He saw this from the Prophet and he accepted Islam right then and there. [he converted just by seeing the Prophet and hearing the words that came out of his mouth.] SUCH WAS THE POWER, SUCH WAS THE BEAUTY, SUCH WAS THE PERFECTION THAT ALLAH BLESSED HIM WITH. - One day RasulAllah was traveling with his companions and the time of qailula (midday nap) came and he was napping alone on one side and the companions were napping in different places; at the time the mushriks were very hostile against them. Suddenly, a man by the name of Gawras ibnul Haaris holding the sword at the neck of Rasul said: 'Who is going to save you from me now?' Rasul said 'Allah!' and the sword fell from the hand of Gawras. Prophet picked up the sword and then held the sword at the neck of Gawras and said ' Who is going to save you from me now?' The man replied, ' Be a generous taker, take this from me generously.' You want to know what the man who was awoken from his sleep with a sword at his neck and a man threating him did?! HE FORGAVE HIM AND LET HIM GO FREE! - A woman was in the graveyard and she was mourning over and the Messenger of Allah passed by and he said that this a musibah (tribulation) for you and that you should be patient. and she retorted, 'you didn't have the tribulation that I had' and he just left her. Look at the character there. He didnt say 'don't you know who I am? I am the Messenger of Allah. You can't talk to me like that. And then she went to her house and somebody came by and said 'Don't you know who that was? That was the Messenger of Allah'. Suddenly remorse entered her heart and she went to his house, knocked on the door ' Ya RasulAllah I didnt know it was you.' Patience is what Allah wants. To forgive your brother for Allah's sake, your sister for Allah's sake. There's people in here that haven't talked to their brother, or their sisters or some of them to their mothers and fathers. Don't be that person! Rasulullaah sent the following letter with Amr bin Umayyah Dhamri to Najaashi (Negus):

In the name of Allaah the: Most Kind, the Most Merciful From Muhammad the Rasool of Allah To Najaashi As'ham the king of Abyssinia:

Peace be to you. Before you I praise Allah the Supreme Sovereign, Most Pure, Giver of peace and Protector. I testify that Isa was the spirit that Allah created and His word that He cast to the chaste, pure and innocent Maryam. She bore Isa whom Allah created from the spirit and breath from Him just as Allah created Adam by His hand and breath from Him. I call you towards the One Allah Who has no partner and to dutifully obey Him. I invite you to follow me, to believe in me and in that which I have brought because I am the Rasul of Allah. I have sent my cousin Ja'far to you together with a group of Muslims. When they arrive, do treat them as your guests without arrogance. I invite you and your forces to (the worship of) the Glorious and Magnificent Allah. I have conveyed my message, given you good counsel so do accept my counsel. Peace be on the one who follows the guidance.

REPLY FROM NAJASHI:

May the peace from Allaah, His mercy and blessings be showered on you, O Nabi of Allah. There is none worthy of worship but He Who has guided me to Islam. 0 Rasulullaah , your letter concerning Isa has reached me. I swear by the Rabb of the heavens and the earth that Isa himself never said more than what you have mentioned. We understand the letter you have sent to us and we have entertained your cousin and his companions. I testify that you are the true and accepted Rasul of Allah. I have pledged my allegiance to you at the hands of your cousin by whose hand I have accepted Islam for the pleasure of Allah the Rabb of the universe. I am sending to you (my son) Areeha bin As'ham. I have control over none but my own self. 0 Rasulullaah! If you wish that I come to you personally, I am prepared to do so for I testify that whatever you say is the absolute truth.

- His readiness to undergo persecutions for his beliefs, the high moral character of the men who believed in him and looked up to him as leader, and the greatness of his ultimate achievement all argue his fundamental integrity .To suppose Muhammad an impostor raises more problems than it solves. Moreover, none of the great figures of history is so poorly appreciated in the West as Muhammad. - William Montgomery Watt [Mohammed at Mecca] - If greatness of purpose, smallness of means and astounding results are the three criteria of human genius, who could dare to compare any great man in modern history with Muhammad? The most famous men created arms, laws and empires only. They founded, if anything at all, no

more than material powers which often crumbled away before their eyes. This man moved not only armies, legislation, empires, peoples and dynasties, but millions of men in one-third of the then inhabited world; and more than that, he moved the altars, the gods, the religions, the ideas, the beliefs and souls.his forbearance in victory, his ambition, which was entirely devoted to one idea and in no manner striving for an empire; his endless prayers, his mystic conversations with God, his death and his triumph after death; all these attest not to an imposture but to a firm conviction which gave him the power to restore a dogma. This dogma was two-fold, the unity of God and the immateriality of God; the former telling what God is, the latter telling what God is not; the one overthrowing false gods with the sword, the other starting an idea with the words. Lamratine [French historian] - He must be called the Saviour of Humanity. I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world, he would succeed in solving its problems in a way that would bring it much needed peace and happiness. - Sir George Bernard Shaw - It was the first religion that preached and practiced democracy; for, in the mosque, when the call for prayer is sounded and worshippers are gathered together, the democracy of Islam is embodied five times a day when the peasant and king kneel side by side and proclaim: God Alone is Great I have been struck over and over again by this indivisible unity of Islam that makes man instinctively a brother. - Sarojini Naidu, IDEALS OF ISLAM
