SPOOLMAN SPOOLMAN
ABOUT SpoolMAN
Spoolman is a piping spool, material & construction management software useful for effective matching front analysis, material allocation, piping material control and tracking. It is valuable for efficient macro and micro level construction planning beginning from the issuing of materials to completion of line history sheets. Spoolman is also ideal for activity based fabrication, inspection, installation, testing, pre-commissioning report & checklist generation, along with monitoring of projects, status review, priority updating and revision management. Spoolman is perfectly suited for operating numerous data, optimally. It is very effective right from the input of data extracted from AutoSPOOL, matching front availability checking (planned vs actual), material allocation and planning, issue of Material Voucher (requests) MIV, return of material Voucher (requests) MRV, Welder qualification, welding management, Vendor management, fit up, weld visual, QA/QC tests upto line history sheet and various erection status review with respect to time, cost and material. This specialised software is the answer to all your needs for piping construction management.
Optimum utilization of Piping material Advance notification for the material requirements. Progress monitoring at every stage for complete scope vs. actual scope. Material traceability information in store with vendors etc. Acquiring information on each joint , line progress, erection status of each piping spool and component Complete vendor management including qualification, quality check and penalty clauses etc. Actual material allocation virtually and practical matching front availability analysis. Virtual planning of spool possibility and optimization of material allocation. Enables analysis of the Effectiveness/ Non effectiveness of each joint Creation of QA/QC material deliverables based on actual possibility Automated & interactive issue and confirmation of material issue voucher line history sheet. One point information for all the piping material and construction activities.
SpoolMAN Features:
Planning
Planning is a major and critical component of any engineering & construction project. SPOOLMAN helps in maintaining project details, allocating material, assigning fabrication Isometrics to sub contractors and deciding loop/systems numbering scheme. It maintains the number format for WPS and WELDER, WPS preparation according to the piping class (specification) and enables preparation of welder penalty reports. It is efficient in assigning joints to WPS according to spec break. Spoolman also specialises in system wise loop preparation and maintaining all the revised data while uploading data in the database.
Material Allocation
One of the main features of Spoolman is its superior material allocation system. The software aids in deciding priority based on Inch Dia, Inch meter or Elevation or any attribute like Fluid code or area number etc. It can be suitably used for allocating material project wise, line wise, spoolwise and component wise. This Material is allocated based on MRN/DMR (Material receipt note/ Daily material receipt) at Site or Store. It also helps in allocating material through self contractor, other contractor and store MRN/DMR to track the over issued material. It has an in-built feature in creating MIV line wise, spoolwise and component wise. SPOOLMAN is also able to control the inventory and enable Material Reconciliation through MRV-Material Return Voucher. This software can be used for allocating material after approval of planning engineer and store incharge.

Revision management
Spool mans Revision Management module takes care of every revision in line or spool, compares the same with the old revision progress stage (MIV, FU, WV, QC) and acts as per the revision taken in order to have latest drawings for spool or for erection. This action depends on the comparison results of the old revision with the new revision, which would be Match, Modify and Mismatch.( Kindly refer to flow chart for details)
Quality Management
Spoolman is an important aide in generating QA/QC test reports like:
Fit-up inspection Weld visual Radiography interpretation Dye penetrant inspection Reinforcement pad pneumatic test inspection Positive material identification Hardness inspection Radiography offering Magnetic particle inspection PWHT inspection Line history sheet
Fit up
Fit up inspection based on the effective weld (If the material is available for both the corresponding components then software will automatically treat weld as effective weld)
Radiography
Spoolman helps in preparation of Radiography offering report as per radiography percentage given. Radiography interpretation is based on the user defined segment nos. i.e. single character (A, B) and double character (A-B, B-C, C-D, D-A). It also offers segment wise/joint wise result checking after Radiography (REPAIR, ACCEPTED, RS/RT, CUTOUT and SITECHECK) Joint will be treated as cut out based on the repaired times i.e. 2 or 3 times (as defined by users). It also helps in reallocating the material for the corresponding components and report generation for the RS/RT
PWHT-Hardness Inspection
PWHT line wise and spool wise before RT and after RT. The software automatically checks hardness requirement based on the specification. Comparison of achieved hardness value with required hardness value (taken from specification automatically). If it does not match, then the program helps in preparation of the next hardness report.
LHS
The activities done at site & their results with dates, generation of LHS loop wise for the loop preparation and also generation of LHS system wise is done effectively.
Addition of Components
One can add new components if the file is getting revised, add branches (Rpad and set-on) on the pipe. The new added component will qualify for material allocation and fitup automatically Addition/Modification of weld It is easy to add new weld at the specific length of pipe for the site adjustments and modify existing weld from shop to field with suffix 'M'
Supporting Erection
The program updates erection status linewise Valve erection status updating Status of Valve erection updation can be extracted line wise
Store
Daily Material receipt/Material receipt Note/Inward Material Receipt. With this program, one can upload DMR/MRN and sap codes according to material received at site. One can use this module for making the entry of all the material received at store, at the site or at more than one site. This can be linked, the material information can be imported either from excel or any other in-house software or from a standard software by customization.
Project Review
SPOOLMAN helps in showcasing the overall progress of the project in areas like:
Project Material availability status Total issued material report sap code wise Reports of material to be ordered Contractor wise pending/utilized material report
wise.
Penalty status reports project wise and welder wise. RT reports for cutout joints Total fitup done Total welding done Balance inch dia report
