ORCA IIA sewage treatment systems are U.S. Coast Guard/IMO and EC Certified. The ORCA IIA is a Type II physical/chemical marine sanitation device (MSD) utilizing 5% chlorine solution for disinfection and is designed specifically for marine applications. The ORCA IIA is equipped with a solid-state microprocessor control and monitoring system which automatically controls the treatment of sewage, warns of any shutdown, and pinpoints any malfunctions. The ORCA IIA operates on demand onlytherefore the system draws power only when treatment is needed. The treatment process is simple and designed to be sludge free.

Marine Sanitation Device (MSD)

Process Description
1. Raw sewage enters treatment tank and is macerated and chlorinated. 2. Macerated sewage is continuously recirculated and passes through retention/reduction screen. Screen is continuously backwashed to prevent build-up. 3. Flow pump transfers effluent into sedimentation modules. Remaining solids fall to bottom and are reprocessed. 4. Clean effluent is discharged overboard.

ORCACLOR
Process Description
ORCACLOR is an electrolytic device that produces chlorine from sea water. Chlorinated water is produced to disinfect the sewage in the treatment tank. ORCACLOR is designed to supplement the existing bleach tank. If sea water is temporarily unavailable, the marine sanitation device operation can continue with the use of the bleach tank. The ORCACLOR is installed in the backwash water pipe leading to the marine sanitation device. Chlorine is produced based on the cell current and backwash water flow rate. The ORCACLOR is controlled by the MSD to automatically produce chlorine on demand.

Transfer Kits for ORCAs

There are certain applications which require the installation of a system to transfer sewage to the ORCA. A collection tank (shipyard supplied) may be needed to control the flow of sewage to the ORCA IIA unit. This system automatically transfers the correct amount of sewage to the ORCA for processing. The ENVIROVAC transfer kit consists of: Grinder pump (connected to the ships black water holding tank) Control panel (interfaced with the ORCA control panel) Level switches (installed in the ships black water holding or surge tank) Contact ENVIROVAC or your local ORCA agent to determine if a transfer system is required with your ORCA. Vacuum Collection Holding Transfer systems are designed to work in conjunction with ORCA equipment. For ships, the EVAC 1.2 liter flush toilet is available in either deck or bulkhead mounted designs. Vacuum toilets are made of vitreous china or stainless steel. The EVAC vacuum collection system is designed to utilize either sewage powered ejectors or vacuum pumps to create vacuum. Benefits of vacuum collection compared to gravity systems are the reduction in sewage volume, smaller piping and vertical lift capability. Vacuum piping allows flexibility in the routing of pipes and is not affected by the pitch and roll of the vessel. Over 6,500 vacuum systems are currently installed in cargo carriers, cruise ships, destroyers, ferries, freighters, frigates, gambling vessels, mine hunters, patrol vessels, work boats, and yachts of all shapes and sizes. The ENVIROVAC Small Vessel System (SVS) is a sewage collection system which uses a rotary vane vacuum pump and vacuum tank. The SVS is designed specifically to function with a small ORCA or on top of a larger holding tank. The SVS has a 50 gallon holding tank and is designed for black water collection only. The SVS is currently available in 440/3/60, 208/3/60, 380/3/50 and 220/1/60 standard power configurations.
