PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITIES

For the purpose of raising additional revenue that will be used to support programs and activities within the District, the Board shall permit paid advertising to appear on district facilities. Advertising shall be defined as written, graphic or digital statements made by a producer, manufacturer, or seller of goods and services, which calls for the publics attention to arouse a desire to buy, use or patronize the product or service. At all times, the District shall consider the wide range of ages of students attending the school or venue, and shall reject proposed advertisements that are not appropriate for all age levels. Advertisements containing or promoting nudity, obscenity, vulgarity, illegal activities, drugs and drug paraphernalia, alcohol and tobacco products, sexual content or products, firearms/weapons or violence are strictly prohibited. The District has the right to refuse advertising which offends the morals and/or conscience of the District, school or school community. Any advertisements deemed by the District as disruptive, libelous, obscene, or inappropriate in a school environment are strictly prohibited. The use of the Districts name or logo, the Board of Trustees names or images, the names or images of students, staff or facilities, shall not be used for any commercial advertising. The acceptance of an advertisement does not constitute or imply approval and/or endorsement of any product, service, organization, or activity by the District. School facilities shall not be used to advertise, promote, sell tickets, or collect funds for any nonschool-related purpose without prior approval of the Superintendent of Schools or designee. Nonschool-related organizations may use school facilities only in accordance with GKD.

ADVERTISING

Advertising shall be prohibited only be allowed in District schools and facilities unless with the approvedal of by the Superintendent of Schools or designee. The Superintendent of Schools shall establish procedures regarding the content of advertisements, and the manner and areas they may be displayed. [See GKB(REGULATION] [See FMA(LOCAL) and (REGULATION) regarding school-sponsored publications] The District retains final editorial authority to accept or reject submitted advertisements in a manner consistent with the First Amendment. Solicitations or use of the schools to promote the merit of products by brand names or trademark is prohibited by the Board.
