Automotive Distributors Ltd (ADL) started as a part of Mazda Cars Ltd.

and has grown over the last 25 years to become a multi-million pound international business. With the latest ISO international quality standards and the Investors in People accreditation, ADL is a dynamic but stable

operation that has continuously returned substantial year on year growth, even when the industry trends have suggested an overall competitive market.

THE CHALLENGE
ISG technology was brought on board by ADL in order to provide Cat5e cables, voice, bre backbone and WiFi to ADLs warehouses. The project had to be carried out during working hours, which meant that ISG technologys engineers had to co-ordinate their work around ADLs sta and daily operations. ADL supplies car parts for Asian and American vehicles, which are stored in their warehouses on shelves at various heights. In order to retrieve stock from the top of the high shelves, ADLs sta must use forklifts. Due to this working environment, ISG technologys engineers had to be extra cautious with ongoing works around ADL's sta . During the installation, ISG technologys engineers had to provide a wireless link between two buildings, which were located approximately 300 metres apart across a main road. This particular wireless link required additional planning and co-ordination. Throughout the entire project particular attention to Health and Safety was given to all aspects of the installation.

SOLUTIONS DELIVERED
The site consisted of four warehouses and an o ce building. ISG technologys engineers successfully installed WiFi throughout three of the warehouses (the fourth warehouse did not require WiFi) including Cat5e cabling and supplying all necessary equipment to provide the customer with a awless wireless connection. A wireless link, using bre and copper cabling, was provided to two buildings located across a main road from one another. In addition, the work within the warehouses had to be carried out at high levels and required Mechanical Working Elevated Platforms (MWEPs) which for the ISG technology team, meant extra caution and attention to detail. ISG technology utilised their in-house Project Support Services to co-ordinate all MWEPs that were required for the project. ISG technology completed the project within the agreed timeframe, providing ADL the ability to access the Internet from any of their warehouses.
