Whats Happening Around Town February has arrived, and it is a month packed with activities beginning this upcoming week! Monday is Hat and PJ Day! The list of other activities can be found in the Buckaroo Bits section of the newsletter! We are also pleased to share that we have confirmed our field trip to Fountain West Care Center on Monday, February 27. We will present Valentine poems, songs, and Scriptures at 10:00 a.m., and then, we will return to the Ankeny IHOP to enjoy lunch before heading back to school for the afternoon. We plan to leave around 9:20 in the morning and return by 12:30 in the afternoon. Permission slips will be sent home next week, and if you are interested, please contact me if you could help with transportation and could be another set of eyes, ears, and hands to corral the troops! One other tidbit that I think you will find exciting is the report generated from DIBELS testing! I was SO pleased with the progress the students made in the basic skills needed for reading! Please continue to work hard at home reading and reviewing letters and sounds as well as building and breaking apart words! The students really are enjoying reading and writing, and it has been especially neat to see their enthusiasm in learning about the United States! I look forward to diving into our countries study with a trip to Mexico this next week! We will be focusing on the one anothers of Scripture in the coming weeks. I pray that the students will become wise, not just smart, for all the knowledge in the world is vain apart from knowing Christ Who IS true wisdom and following His path for our lives! A: Yes, all ACA students are invited to participate in Hat and Pajama Day this Monday, February 6! Students wishing to wear a hat to school need to bring $1, and those who would like to wear pajamas need to bring $2.50. Proceeds will go to help support the Horn Family!
A: We already have had several large penny and coin donations! Please continue to send all the pennies, nickels, and dimes you can share! The high school students stopped by on Tuesday to encourage the kids to continue to bring their pennies! They shared with us that the class that brings the most money in the elementary grades will be rewarded with a pizza party! All the money donated is used to bless families who might not otherwise be able to afford Christian education! Thank you for your willingness to share some of what God has given you!
