Spanish Program Director and Spanish Program Revisions 
As the Spanish Language Program Director (1996‐1999), I completely reshaped the Spanish Basic and 
Intermediate Program: adopted a new textbook and developed new syllabi, exams and course guidelines for 
SPAN 101, 102, 105, 109, 201, 202, and 209; organized faculty orientations, assigned courses, and provided 
technology support to faculty. I also served as Acting Director of the Spanish program in Fall 2003 and Fall 
2004. 
I have participated in the development of new requirements for the Spanish Master's Program (2001‐
2002), Spanish Major (2006‐2007) and the Guidelines for Comprehensive Exams and Master’s Thesis 
(2007‐2008). 
Study Abroad 
Resident Director. Responsibilities included recruiting, pre‐program advising; working with CGE to arrange 
program schedules; preparing syllabi and course descriptions; supervising of academic component of 
program; presenting at orientation at GMU; accompanying students on excursions; academic advising and 
guidance in host country; evaluating of teaching and classes in the host country (and consulting with on‐site 
instructors and administrators); administering oral exams (in Spanish courses only); grading written 
assignments; calculating and assigning final grades, and writing final report with recommendations.
