Vehicle registration office will be closed on 15, 16 & 17 FEB 2012 to complete renovation that will result in better service to the community. They're adding: four new work station with new computers and fiber optic cabling, FACTS automated number system that gives estimated wait times, service menu board with handouts depicting required items and a few more things to make visits a little more pleasurable. The Stuttgart Field Office will conduct ANNUAL THREAT AWARENESS AND REPORTING PROGRAM briefings (TARP), formerly known as SAEDA, from 27 February - 01 March 2012 at the Kelley Theater. Briefings will be held in the mornings (0900 & 1100) and afternoons (1300 & 1500); with German speaking sessions held at 1500 on 27 and 29 February 2012 respectively. Please see attached scheduled for additional details. AFRICOM personnel on leave or TDY during this period should arrange to attend one of the briefings held at either the Patch Theater (13-17 February 2012) or Panzer Chapel (21, 22, & 24 February 2012). In accordance with DoD Instruction 5240.6 and National Security Decision Directive 197, all military, civilian, and contract personnel, regardless of branch of service, are required to receive a TARP briefing at least once a year. Additionally, spouses and teenage children are strongly encouraged to attend. _______________________________________ 10.) The USAFRICOM Office of Security Management (J03-SM) is pleased to advertise two DSS courses being offered this year at Aviano Air Base, Italy. 1. The first course is Information Security Orientation, IF101.01, and is being held from 28 - 29 March 2012. 2. The second course is DoD Personnel Security Management for Security Professionals, PS212.01, and is being held from 09 - 13 Apr 2012. 13.) Request your assistance for WOUNDED WARRIOR volunteer trips to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. The purpose of these trips is to cook food, provide meals, and provide company for military members being treated there mainly for combat-related injury. Snacks and other supplies like books, DVDs and games are also provided. If you can't join the January trip but are want to participate, upcoming dates are Feb 25, Mar 24, Apr 21, May 12. Participants are more than welcome to drive their own vehices but if you would like to get a ride, please advise the POC, PO1 Kirschman--J2. CHANGE TO FMWR AIRPORT SHUTTLE PROGRAM Based on a recent legal review of the FMWR Stuttgart Airport Shuttle program, they are no longer able to offer pick-up services at any airport, on post or off-post residence. However, they are able to continue offering shuttle services to the Stuttgart Airport from the Kelley hotel, Swabian Suites and Panzer hotel ONLY. This service is for registered hotel guests only. These reservations can be made with the front desk staff of the hotels. Reservations received prior to this release will be honored. In addition, the Garrison does have agreements with taxi companies that provide services to our military installations. Please call Taxi Zentrale Boeblingen, 07031-19410, if you reside/work on Panzer or Patch. If you reside/work on Patch, Kelley, SAAF and Robinson Barracks you can contact

Remember when calling these companies to always ask for a driver with an American Installation Pass and if you need to go to the airport - make sure you let them know how much luggage, if you have children or pets - this will help them to determine the size of a vehicle to bring. Also, if you are traveling with small children, you will be responsible to bring your own child carrier seat. Not all taxi drivers have children safety seats. Please pay the drivers in Euro's - not dollars or credit cards. VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION CEREMONY - In honor of NATIONAL VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION WEEK (Apr 15-21), and the outstanding service of our USAG-Stuttgart volunteers, the garrison will host a Volunteer Recognition Ceremony on Apr. 5 at the Patch Community Center starting at 1:30 p.m. All agencies with volunteers are asked to submit their volunteer hours through the Volunteer Management Information System, or VMIS, no later than Jan 31.
