a. Policy Statement:
It is the policy of Saudi German Hospital Riyadh (SGHR) to protect patient’s valuables from
loss or theft during the stay at hospital in order to achieve high quality service and care for its
patients.
b. Purposes:
1. To provide a safe and secure environment where the patient’s valuables are protected
from loss or theft during the stay at Saudi German Hospital Riyadh.
2. To fulfill Saudi German Hospital ethical commitment to patient, family and
community about safety and security at the hospital premises.
3. To assure compliance with Bill of Patient and Family Rights and Responsibilities and
to provide a patient centered quality healthcare which meets international standards.
χ. Definitions
e. Accompanied Patient: Thos patients, who are brought to the hospital by relatives,
friends or guardian / sponsor.
f. Unaccompanied Patient: Those patients, who come to hospital alone or who may be
brought by Police, Red Crescent, or somebody other than relatives, friends or
guardian / sponsor.
g. Conscious Patient: Those patients, who are awake and aware of their surroundings
and identity, when reach the hospital.
h. Unconscious Patients: Those patients, who are not awake and not aware of their
surroundings and identity, when reach the hospital.
i. Police Case: These include the medico-legal cases such as suicidal attempt, stab in-
juries, physical assaults, child abuse, and drug abuse.
