An Amendment to the Student Government Association Constitution. Article IV Section 3

SYNOPSIS: Student Representation in the Student Senate will be equal for every student enrolled in Rowan University.

Section 3. Senate. A. Members. 1. The voting members of the Senate shall consist of: a. One (1) representative, herein after referred to as Club Senator, from each of the chartered Rowan University student organizations. a. Each residential district as acknowledged by the Student Government Association shall have at least one representative. Districts containing more than 250 students shall be allotted two representatives.

b. One (1) representative, herein after referred to as an Academic Senator, from each academic college at Rowan University b. Each academic school and college, as acknowledged by the Student Government Association , shall have at least one representative. An additional representative shall be allotted for every 250 undergraduate students enrolled in a school or college and no school or college shall have more than four representatives.

c. Up to eight (8) representatives per class (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior classes), herein after referred to as a Class Senator, c. One seat shall be reserved for each of the class standings, Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior and Senior to represent their respective classes.

Addition to Article IV Section 3 d. Seats shall be reserved in the Student Senate for commuting students chosen in an election open to all degree-seeking undergraduate students who do not reside in on-campus housing. Commuters shall be guaranteed one Seat with additional Seats allotted for each 350 registered commuting undergraduates thereafter.

2. The non-voting members of the Senate shall consist of: a. The SGA Executive Board b. The SGA Advisor(s) 3. A Club Senator must be a member of SGA and may not represent more than one chartered student organization at a time.
