Conference Location: Islamabad - the capital city of Pakistan - is only 50 years old, but is one of the most beautiful cities in South Asia. It combines the influence of many a civilization with its wide, tree-lined streets, a vibrant theatre, and an exciting cuisine. Nestling in the Margalla Hills at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level, the Capital Territory is spread across 1200 square kilometres and is full of natural streams, terraces, and meadows covering the southern Potohar plain, which is drained by the Kurang River. Continuing the tradition of the ancient Buddhist University at Taxila, Islamabad is now home to over a dozen universities as well as several national laboratories. The weather in March is pleasant, being the start of spring in Islamabad, with temperatures ranging from 12 - 240C. Transportation: Transportation is available to/from Islamabad airport and hotel, as well as for the field trip. Financial Support: Local hospitality is available for a limited number of participants; however, travel costs will be borne by the participants themselves Language: English is the official language for printed materials, presentations and discussions.

Visa: A passport must be valid for 6 months till the date of departure from Pakistan and participants are requested to contact the Pakistani Embassy at their respective countries for Visa processing. To assist visa applications, SOPREST will send an invitation letter to registered participants.
