Executive Summary
Career Services conducts an annual survey of Webber graduates for each academic year. This report includes the results for the 2003-2004 year. From December 2003 through August 2004, a total of 79 students earned the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, while another 24 earned the Master of Business Administration. Graduates were surveyed at the May graduation rehearsal, through email, telephone and other personal communication. By November 1, 2004, we had successfully contacted 85% of BSBA graduates and 71% of MBA graduates. With few exceptions, respondents are using their degrees in full-time careers or in graduate degree programs. Of those who responded, 81% of BSBA graduates and 100% of MBA graduates are working in the fields of their majors. Of BSBA graduates who responded, 22% are attending graduate school. Only four (6%) of the responding BSBA graduates are unemployed and not in school. Of the unemployed BSBA graduates, three were not seeking employment and one had been seeking employment less than one month, after spending time traveling. This years Webber graduates are known to be working for 62 employers. Fifteen of the employers (24%) have previously hired Webber graduates; six (10%) employers from this year hired Webber graduates within the past two years. MBA graduates are working for 11 of the 62 employers, 6 of which previously hired Webber graduates. Webbers BSBA graduates are represented at 6 graduate schools. The sustained recruiting by many previous employers is evidence of employer satisfaction with Webber graduates. As a new feature of this years graduate survey, data was collected concerning the gender, GPA, athletic participation, international student status, major and degree program (traditional or McKenna) of each graduate. Demographics of BSBA and MBA graduates were studied, using chi square tests of independence, for relationships to graduate outcomes. There is an indication that among BSBA graduates, Sport Management majors and men are more likely to attend graduate school. No other demographic factors reached statistical significance in relation to graduate outcomes.
