Juneau EDUCATION: 2006-Present: PhD, Microbiology and Immunology, Degree expected Summer 2011, Wa ke Forest University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Winston Salem, NC 2001-2005: LA B.S. Biological Sciences, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge,

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE: 2006-Present: Graduate Research, Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Depa rtment of Microbiology and Immunology Advisor: William E. Swords, PhD Research foci include Nontypeable Haemophilus influenzae (NTHi)-induced otitis m edia through utilization of an in vivo chinchilla model, in vitro and in vivo bi ofilm formation, as well as study of the induction and antimicrobial effects of neutrophil extracellular traps using primary human or murine cells or immortaliz ed cell lines. Academic requirements include regular data presentation within t he departments bacteriology focus group, as well as a yearly formal seminar for the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. 2005-2005: Intern, NuPotential, Inc. Louisiana Emerging Technology Center, Bat on Rouge, LA Mentor and Senior Scientist: Rachel Power, PhD Responsibilities: In a research atmosphere focused on cellular reprogramming and epigenetics, I developed skills in tissue culture, light microscopy, polymerase chain reaction, and general lab maintenance. 2003-2005: Undergraduate Student Worker, Louisiana State University, Department of Biological Sciences, Baton Rouge, LA Supervisor: Hollie Hale-Donze, PhD Responsibilities: In a laboratory studying macrophage responses to microsporidi a, I developed skills in isolation and culture of peripheral blood mononuclear c ells, in vitro cellular infection, immunohistochemical staining, and general lab maintenance. 2003-2004: Student Worker, Pennington Biomedical Research Center, Baton Rouge, LA Supervisors: Randall Mynatt, PhD and Rachel Power, PhD Responsibilities: In the transgenics core, I bred, weaned, and genotyped mouse c olonies, organized and updated pedigrees, and performed general lab maintenance.
