I received an Honorable Discharge from the Navy in 1995. I was a hydraulics and pneumatics mechanic on E2-C Hawkeye Airborn Early Warning aircraft. I then worke d for Donny Hunter Excavation, where I was taught to respect, safely operate and maintain heavy equipment. I excavated land for the Woodbury Commons Outlets Mal l in Central Valley (Orange County), moving earth and grading for the new additi ons to the complex from 1995-1998. My experience with equipment includes operati on of all makes and models of Excavators, Backhoes and Front loaders, and numero us Dozers. Experience with underground utility installation for residential and commercial jobs. Proficient with a transit and shooting grades, and I have exper ience with MIG and stick welding. Also, I started out as a laborer and worked my way up over the years. I am not afraid to get out of a machine and jump in the ditch to help out. I do not forget where I came from. I have the skills and abil itie to pick up on new things and get good at them. I am easily teachable and pa y attention to detail. HONORS/ACTIVITIES Sailor of the year, Sailor of the Month, Mechanic of the year....received these wards and numerous combat operations medals and ribbons while in the military. W ill present combat medals upon request. CAREER HIGHLIGHTS I was a key player in three major projects of varying types. First, I was employ ed with a company that had a major role in clearing land and grading out a huge area (hundreds of acres) to prepare for additions to the Woodbury Commons Mall i n Central Valley, NY. Secondly, I was on a team of SeaBees in Naples, Italy who cleared land and setup sites for foundations where new barracks were being built. We made two deployme nts to Iraq and one to Afghanistan and Kuwait, cleaning up sites after they were were bombed. Lastly, I worked in almost every crew of the Millennium Pipeline job throughout the Southern Tier of NY. I operated many different machines on a daily basis to get the 36" natural gas main line in the ground, covered up and ready to be used . I also drove the "Foam Truck," a ten wheeler straight truck that carried chemi cals to spray foam ditch pillows for the pipe to lay on, and ditch breakers to k eep natural underground water from moving the pipe once it was covered up. During the Persian Gulf war, I was a hydraulics/pneumatics mechanic on aircraft based on the USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) aircraft carrier. I was responsible for th e maintenance, repair, inspection, overhaul and readiness of the aircraft's hydr aulic systems in a stressfull environment where flight operations were being con ducted 24 hours a day while the bombing was going on. My role was to make sure m y squadron's aircraft were ready to take off from the flight deck within 5 minut es of being called upon. I was responsible for all the flight controls on the pl ane, the landing gear, tires, arresting hook and any and every hydraulic and pne umatic component on that plane for safe flight operation. At the time, I worked from 18 yrs of age until 21 yrs old on a 36 million dollar aircraft with the pil ots and crew members lives in my hands. It was a position that taught me alot ab out paying attention to detail, working as a team, getting the job done by-the-b ook and taking pride in knowing that every pilot that ever flew in an aircraft t hat I was in charge of came back safely. I also learned unmatched work ethics. I then re-enlisted to become a SEABEE and ended up going on land based missions t o Iraq, Afganistan and Kuwait. I am very proud to have served my country, and wo uld go back in at the drop of a dime (although I'm too old now!). But the milita ry taught me discipline, how to give 110% every day, and to pay attention to det ail, making sure that I learn my job to the best of my ability and excel at what ever task is put in front of me.
