Whether Antivirus A System Software Or An Application Software

First of all we should know that what a Software is. Software is anything that can be stored Electronically in our computer. Softwares are usually categorized as System Software and Application Software. System Software includes all those Softwares that enable the computer to perform functions. Without System Softwares a computer cannot run. While the Softwares that utilize a user to perform different functions are known as Application Softwares. Usually it is thought that Antivirus is an Application Software because it facilitates or helps the users to keep their system protected. But Antivirus is a System Software, however it is installed as Application, but we use it to make sure that our system functions properly. So Antivirus is indeed a System Software. Antivirus Softwares are designed to detect, prevent and remove malware. Malware includes Viruses, Worms, Trojans, and Scareware. It can also detect Sadware and Spyware.Antivirus software is nothing more than a System which analyzes information and then if it finds that this information is infected and it can cause damage to computer, it disinfects it. The information is scanned by Antivirus in different ways. It depends upon the source from where it comes. Antivirus runs all the time on our computer and looks for any problem that might have been caused by virus. If it finds any threats, it will try to remove it. Antivirus is automatically updated by itself. When we are connected to internet Antivirus downloads latest information about any new threats to keep it up to date and keep our system secure. All this happens automatically, user has not to do any thing. Now we shall explain in detail that why Antivirus is a System Software. It is difficult for our System to perform any function when it is attacked by Viruses, Spam, or Trojans etc. So Antivirus helps us to remove these Viruses and Trojans etc.Until the System is not made free from these viruses by using antivirus, System cannot perform any operation. So we can say that in this condition if we do not use Antivirus our system fails to operate any more. Therefore Antivirus helps us to make our System run properly, From the above discussion we conclude that Antivirus is a System Software which is essential for proper functioning of our computer.
