The Spirit of Jealousy

Gods power has come to the earth. The light has come to drive out the darkness. The kingdom of salvation, deliverance, healing, and light CAME, and it is here NOW. And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands. And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, they have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands: and what can he have more but the kingdom? And Saul eyed [literally meaning that he looked with jealousy upon] David from that day and forward. And it came to pass on the morrow [the next day], that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in Sauls hand. And Saul cast the javelin; for he said, I will smite David even to the wall with it. And David avoided out of his presence twice. 1 Samuel 18:7-11 Saul became jealous of David. Saul's jealousy led to anger, rage, and even murder. Saul's root problem was REJECTION. Rejection can open the door for jealousy. Rejected people crave love and attention, and can become jealous when others receive attention and praise. Jealousy can also work with distrust and paranoia. Saul became increasingly paranoid of David, and felt David was after his kingdom.

The following verses show what jealousy produces: Murder Genesis 4:8 Revenge-Spite Proverbs 6:34; 14:16.17 Anger-Rage Genesis 4:5, 6 Proverbs 6:34; 14-29; 22:24, 25 29:22,23 Jealousy- Number 5:14,30 Hatred- Genesis 37:3, 4, 8; I Thess. 4:8 Cruelty- Song of Solomon 8:6; Proverbs 27:4 Strife- Proverbs 10:12 Contention- Proverbs 13:10 Extreme Competition- Genesis 4:4,5 Envy- Proverbs 14:30 Cause Divisions- Galatians 5-19-21 Jealousy is a spirit that is mentioned twice in the bible: Numbers 5:14 - "And the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be defiled: or if the SPIRIT OF JEALOUSY come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be not defiled:" (KJV) Numbers 5:30 - "Or when the SPIRIT OF JEALOUSY cometh upon him, and he be jealous over his wife, and shall set the woman before the LORD, and the priest shall execute upon her all this law." (KJV)
