Set up Steps for L2 RFC2544 test to be initiated by JDSU Smartclass Handheld tester to the JDSU Metro-nid Tester

Metro-nid setup Select OAM then Configuration and click add

Make the following settings

Select OAM, then loopback and then the loopback instance that was just created (VHA Loopback)

Make the following settings

Click Apply. Obtain the MAC address of the network port by selecting port then configuration and pass on to VHA TIC.

Once the VHA TIC have started the RFC test traffic should be flowing on the network port, this is visible by selecting Port then statistics. There should be a similar amount

of TX packets as RX packets and the counts should be increasing when the browser is refreshed

JDSU Handheld setup Start Tester and select: Optical Ethernet or Electrical Ethernet as appropriate, select RFC 2544 test

Configure Link settings as per the connected Link, ensure solid Sync light is on (located top left corner of the tester). Configure Ethernet settings, inputting the Destination MAC address of the far end Metronid

Set Payload settings as below:

Set the tagging settings as per below, substituting the VLAN ID of the service under test

Set up tests as per Vodafone standard:

Tests To Run Throughput Latency Packet Jitter Frame Loss 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 1280, 1522, 1523 Set to the Bandwidth of the service under test To within 1%

0% Set to the Maximum Test bandwidth minus any additional overhead added. For most services this is just the same as the maximum test bandwidth 1 10 seconds 10 milliseconds 1 120 seconds 0 60 seconds 10%

Start the RFC2544 Test (Action->start RFC2544). Then go to Results->RFC2544 Log:

Looping up the far end unit will fail, as per below. This is OK, check the results of the tests once they start running and ensure that they are passing:

The other way to check the test is running fine is to go to Results->link counts. When a test is run for a particular frame size the link counts should increase and Tx and Rx should be the same, as per below:

After the RFC-2544 test is complete (around 45mins) the overall test status should be a PASS as per below:
