CAREER FEST
Career Fest 2012, January 30 February 3, a week of career events for USC students. Whether you are a freshman and have not decided your major, a sophomore/junior thinking about internships or a senior about to graduate we have an event for you! The week will include panels, discussions, workshops and networking events hosted by departments across the USC campus. CAREER CENTER INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS


The Career Center is offering two great internship programs for 2012: Dream Dollars and The Scheyer Family Scholarship. The Dream Dollars Program is a unique scholarship program for undergraduates. The USC Dream Dollars Program provides stipends for USC students who receive internships with a nonprofit or government organization. This program will support students hoping to gain work experience from an unpaid internship. Students will be selected through an application and interview process. All internships must be a minimum of six weeks during the summer. The program provides a stipend of $1,200 for each student. Students must have an internship prior to applying for this scholarship. The Scheyer Family Scholarship for Summer Interns, established in December of 2007, will provide an award of $2,500 to two students enrolled in approved summer internships. Preference will be given to sophomores, juniors or seniors with demonstrated financial need. Student recipients must have a major in the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts & Sciences and must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Students must be in good academic standing and must have a graduation date between December 2012 and May 2015. Students must have an internship prior to applying for this scholarship. The Lime Connect Fellowship Program!

PAID INTERNSHIPS
Fox Networks Group Talent Acquisition Intern Fox Networks Group (FNG) is seeking a technically savvy, marketing-focused intern to work with the Talent Acquisition (TA) Department beginning in Late January/early February. Meet with a wide array of Marketing professionals within Broadcast/Cable Television division; Learn our business and help develop messaging, materials and events; assist in planning, coordinating and executing cutting-edge initiatives; gain hands-on implementation experience. This project-based internship will initially engage Marketing teams across the division to understand their upcoming marketing strategies and tactics, in order to identify synergistic opportunities for Talent Acquisition to partner on the extension of our collective brands and other creative messaging. Work with Talent Acquisition team to further develop FNG TA Newsletter and implement process for disseminating weekly hot jobs list to employee base. Partner with Recruiters to execute crowd sourcing and other social media strategies focused on engaging a variety of professional organizations and discipline specific groups to grow our project-based challenge initiative. Partner with team to identify internal departments interested in participating in 3rd annual "Project-Based Summer Challenges", which includes developing value-added, relevant projects that emulate current business needs and provide exciting opportunities for student groups and professionals to learn our performance expectations and gain hands-on experience. Research associations, groups or other professional and student organizations that help drive our Audience Strategy philosophy and recruiting initiatives. Qualifications include Strong technical skills with MS Office (PowerPoint), Adobe Suite (Photoshop), Digital and Social Media, and Video Production. Have excellent communication skills (written & verbal); highly professional presentation skills and phone demeanor. This role is based in Century City, CA 90064. We are seeking students that are at the undergrad level, with prior experience marketing, social media, graphic design experience and can commit to at least 16 hours per week for 12 weeks during the winter/spring season. Getty Center and Getty Villa 2012 Multicultural Undergraduate Internship Opportunities We are pleased to announce the launch of the application for the summer 2012 Multicultural Internship at the Getty Center and Getty Villa. Eligibility for these internships is limited to currently enrolled undergraduates who reside or attend college in Los Angeles County, will have completed at least one semester of college by June 2012 and/or will complete their undergraduate degree by September 1, 2012. Candidates are sought from all areas of undergraduate study and are not required to have demonstrated a previous commitment to the visual arts. The internships are intended specifically for outstanding students who are members of U.S. minority groups underrepresented in Museum professions: individuals of African American, Asian, Latino/Hispanic, Native American, and Pacific Islander descent. Interns are paid $3,500 for ten weeks of full-time work (40 hours per week) between June and August 2012. Lend for America Real Estate Development Intern Lend for America is a program of the Campus Microfinance Alliance. Since 2001, college students across the country have led the development of microfinance institutions to spur economic development in their campus communities. The organizations below are members of the Campus Microfinance Alliance, a collaborative effort started in 2009 to support the growth of the student-led microfinance movement. Lend for America is for college students interested microfinance and community development. With Lend for America youll spend your summer working with real people, real businesses, and real money. You'll get to meet entrepreneurs, review loans, see how microfinance works in the U.S., and youll be working with people whove chosen careers with a conscience. All of your travel expenses will be paid and youll receive a $2500 stipend. Your summer kicks off with a classroom introduction to US microfinance and a gathering with its leaders. Youll spend 8 weeks learning from hard working Americans and microfinance practitioners about the opportunities for microfinance to transform business owners and communities by reviewing loan applications, opening savings accounts, and coaching clients. Youll be based with Community Empowerment Fund in Chapel Hill, NC; The Intersect Fund in New Brunswick, NJ; or the Capital Good Fund in Providence, RI. After the summer, youll start a new Campus MFI and join a national network of social entrepreneurs working to build a better country through microfinance. After a few weeks, youll serve your first client, make your first loan, and soon youll be hooked. UBS Sophomore Symposium UBS Sophomore Symposium is a three-day, expenses paid, immersion into the world of finance. USC Trio Educational Talent Search Student Program Advisor USC TRiO Educational Talent Search is currently looking for Student Program Advisors and Tutors. Students will be assigned to a high school in Central, South Central, and Downtown Los Angeles and provide one on one and group academic and career advisement to ETS students. They will also assist students with college, FAFSA, and scholarship applications. Duties will also include assisting the Academic Advisor in the implementation of workshops and other activities at the designated school sites and collaborate with the school counselor at assigned sites to effectively execute the program's and school's objectives. Obama For America Summer Internship Our spring internship is an opportunity for your students and graduates to gain hands-on experience with a United States presidential campaign and strengthen their skills as future leaders. Spring interns with Obama For America will learn firsthand about the grassroots efforts that drive our campaign and how what we do here at headquarters facilitates our actions in the states. USC Center for Urban Education Communications Intern The Center for Urban Education (CUE) is seeking a student intern with a background in communications, journalism and/or marketing. The intern will gain experience in writing articles for publication in print, on the web and other online media (e.g., through Constant Contact); assisting with the development of other content; maintaining and updating information on CUE's website; and preparing materials for dissemination to targeted audiences. Student will work 10-20 hours/week. CUE is a research center housed at the Rossier School of Education. It leads socially conscious research and develops data, benchmarking and process improvement tools to assist colleges and universities in improving educational outcomes for minority students. American Theater Wing Springboard NYC Actor Boot Camp June 2012 Talent isn't all you need to make it in the theatre. You also need connections, relationships and professional tools to turn your talent into a career. That's what you'll get at SpringboardNYC. At this two week college-to-career transition program, you'll have the opportunity to participate in on-your-feet training sessions and workshops designed to help you find jobs in the New York theatre community, and introduce you to living in New York. Taught by industry professionals, sessions include audition training with directors and casting directors and seminars with industry's leading agents, managers as well as intimate conversations with working actors you will recognize from both stage and screen. SpringboardNYC also gives you hands-on practical guidance in how to live in New York while pursuing a theatre career. Goldwater Scholarship New York University For outstanding undergraduates in mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering. The Goldwater Foundation awards up to 300 scholarships nationally. Each scholarship covers expenses for undergraduate tuition, fees, books, and room and board, up to a maximum of $7,500 annually. Junior-level recipients are eligible for a maximum of two years of support, and seniorlevel recipients are eligible for a maximum of one year of support, for use starting in Fall 2012. It is expected that students selected as scholars intend to pursue a doctoral degree. Eligibility includes (1) Science, math, or engineering majors who will be USC juniors or seniors in 2012 2013 and (2) Must be in the upper fourth of your class with a recommended GPA of 3.5 or higher.
